I have started week 2 of phase 1 today-- No cravings, feel better and more energy. My weight loss has been slower than others who started the same week as me. I try to not let that discourage me. I'm in this for the long haul. Any insight or ideas anyone would like to share, I strongly welcome! :)

Welcome! I found the second week of P1 to be much easier than the first. I truly think SBD is the way people should eat for health. Glad you're here!

I've stayed on track and week 2 has been easier. I will not weigh again until Thursday but I can tell in my midsection that I've lost.

Last night I had a great meal of Salmon, salad and broccoi. Yum.
No cravings and no headaches.

As a very long time Springsteen fan, just wanted to say I liked your journal title! :) Everyone loses at different rates and in different ways. We would all like to lose more and faster. If we stay the course, I think we all get there eventually. wileybosco has a quote in her signature area by William Feather that goes "Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others let go." Just keep hangin' on!! :)

Another Springsteen fan chiming in here. The quote is one I stole from Rox a long time ago so "what goes around, comes around". The secret is hanging on and stringing clean eating days together. Hang tough!

PedsRN--yes, workouts help me destress. I'm a nurse also, so I'm sure you can relate.
Today is my first day of Phase II: I weighed in this am and I'm down 3 more pounds for a total of 7.5 in 2 weeks. That is a lot for me and I'm pleased. Salmon, steak and lots of steamed broccoli and salads! The best part are the sugar lows that I'm NOT experiencing.
The only temptation I forsee is a margarita--I'm supposed to go out with friends later this week. I hope I can resist, not ready to screw up all this hard work.

Staying on track. I found the recipe for a little pizza on a whole wheat tortilla with sugar free pizza sauce and mozzarella. I cooked it on my pizza stone. It was perfect for my pizza fix. I did eat some strawberries and blackberries yesterday also. So, that was a grain and a fruit yesterday. I was only going to do one. But, strawberries looked soooo good and I couldn't resist.

I'm doing the Baylor WEPP plan on days...so all day Sat and Sunday. That's one job and I PRN in the recovery room at a ambulatory surgery center. That's so I can take vacations :) I do not want to be a fat nurse.

I do admire you for being able to work pediatrics, not my cup of tea. I love kids just not in the hospital setting.

You're pretty close to goal. Stay Strong :)

Hey! whats baylor wepp?

i LOVE peds!! Could never work with adults who can be nasty, have attitudes or bed sores :( We do have to work with parents of our pts though and that can be rough at times....

I had a bad med surg experience in nursing school so I guess that explains me being against adults.

Congratulations on your weightloss! WTG!! I'm only on day 4, with the weekend looming--that's going to be hard for me.

Hope that you are able to achieve all you set out to achieve!!

Thanks Gaia
PedsRN--The WEPP plan is where I work weekends only. All day Sat and all day Sun 7a-730p , work 24 and get paid for 36hrs. It started at Baylor University so that's why they call it the Baylor Plan also.

So, I work all weekend, sometimes that is harder because everyone brings in so much food. But, I've packed my lunch with a SB pizza and small salad. Everyone have a great weekend.
