Hello Everyone!

My name is Ewa and I am new to this message board. I am 25 years old and recently got married in August 2007 to a wonderful man. I currently weight 136 Lbs and I am 5 ft 7. I weighed around 125-130 Lbs on my wedding day. I want to lose about 10 - 15 lbs by summer and tone up a bit. I dance ballet about 1 time per week now. I walk my two yorkies every day. I just signed up to a gym close to my house.

My friend told me about the South Beach Diet, and I want to learn more! Where do I even start?! I bought a south beach diet frozen hot pocket before and it tasted like cardboard. I am a beginners' cook so I don't want difficult recipes.

Looking forward to chatting with you all. I hope I can reach my weight loss goal by summer!

welcome! Best place to start is the Phase One or P1 forum here. Go back to the index to find the list of sub-forums and go to the phase 1 forum. near the top are some sticky threads. Find the one that is the FAQ here and in it are two really important links for starting. One is the P1 foods to enjoy list and the other is the "how to adapt your meal plan template" which will help you figure out what, when and how to eat. The other really helpful place to start is to get a copy of the main SBD "blue" book and read the background info in that about the program. It really helps put the pieces together. 3-4 months to lose 10-15 lbs is not impossible, but you will likely also need to ramp up your exercise as well. You are really already in a fairly healthy range for your height so progress will be slower than someone with a lot to lose. Don't want to discourage you, just want to set healthy realistic expectations. This isn't a quick weight loss plan.

so many people gain weight after they get married so dont feel bad. Youre making a good choice in changing your habits now and trying to lose that excess weight.
Stick around these message boards and youll get so much encouragement to lose it all!!
