Food safety - eggs & chili

Is it OK to eat eggs a week or two after the expiration date if they're in the refrigerator? How long is it OK to keep chili? Chicken that has been cooked?

I've had some stomach aches and intestinal gas (well, flatulence), and am trying to figure out why.

I'd check with your grocer on the eggs. Is it a "sell" date or a "use before" date? I'd go a week or so after a sell date but be leery of that long after a use before date.

We figure about 7-10 days on things that are cooked and in the fridge.

Eating any SF treats/drinks with polyols/sugar alcohols like malitol, sorbitol, mannitol, etc.? Those often have that kind of effect. (and sometimes worse! ;) )
