I did not read the entire thing but I did look at the split. And, in my opinion it is very strange, especially for a program that claims to be designed for hypertrophy. It consists largely of isolation exercises, but completely ignores major groups. For example, there is not a single shoulder exercise in the entire program. Other than that it just has weird choices. Hammer curls are great, but they are primarily targeted at elbow flexor. So as a third exercise in your bicep routine that makes sense, but in this program is it is the only exercise. Again, weird.
Designing a lifting program for someone requires a lot of knowledge that is nearly impossible to obtain over the internet. Thus, its probably smartest to recommend going to a trainer for a couple sessions. However, if you feel you can conduct an honest assessment of yourself and thoughtfully design a program based on your current level of fitness, exrx has some very good information on designed a split here:

That workout program on Testosterone Nation has some merit, I like the circuit training aspect of it, but like scotch32 said there are some odd choices and certain body parts are left out.
I like to do a lot of bodyweight exercises, but weights are fun too, because I am a traceur.
Anyways if you are interested Crossfit.com has a daily workout that they put out which usually has some good ideas in it and helps to keep everything varied.
I also like americanparkour.com's Workout Of the Day.
Just some personal prefernces, but if you are just starting out I would agree with scotch and suggest either talking to some trainers or sometimes just talking to people at the gym can be really useful. |
