I'm on day 7 of Phase one and all was going well up until day 5. After breakfast on day 5 I felt dizzy, shaky & light headed. It lasted all day until after dinner. Same experience for day 6 and today. I have PCOS and am on 1500mg of metformin. Does anyone know what is going on? I have searched through so many forums looking for answers and can't find anything concrete.
My daily menu has stayed the same throughout the past 7 days.
I have been on many diets in the past including Atkins with no side effects. What's the deal with SBD?
I'm 35 5'3 179lbs & have already lost 8 since day 1. I don't want to stop SBD 'cause I enjoy the food, choices & the ultimate lifestyle.
PLEASE HELP!! :( :( :( |

I felt tired, hungry and cranky the first few days, but I was advised to eat plenty of beans and dairy and felt much better. It's not the same situation as you, but it might help?
I don't know about the PCOS or the medication though, sorry. |

This post might help. http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43327
Although it just really reiterates what Indigo said. Making sure you are eating something every 2-3 hours, getting in your good carbs and drinking plenty of water to stay well hydrated are usually your best bets to get through the first 3-5 days when these kinds of symptoms seem to affect some people. |

It might help to post some menus too, so we can see what you're eating and advise you. I found doing that was invaluable during the first couple of weeks.
(by the way, it amuses me how I've gone from asking the questions to answering them!) |

That's when you know you've been fully assimilated!
Spatch, you need to eat a LOT more vegetables-- I doubt there's 2+ cups of veggies in your lunch lettuce wraps, for instance. Have a cup of skim milk at breakfast rather than just a bit in your coffee, plus another cup later in the day (or some fat-free plain yogurt instead). The meal templates in my FAQ should help. |
