I have been reading all the FAQs in hopes of 'doing it right'... ;)
Question: Do I have to follow the menus in the book? Will I be successful in Phase 1 if I don't?
I did see the Phase 1 FAQ and this exact question but when I click the link: (I can't give you the link because I can't add links until I have 10 posts, but it's viewtopic.php?t=16089), I get: "The topic or post you requested does not exist."
I will be starting phase 1 soon, but do not plan on following the recipes. I plan instead to use all the food lists and information on quantities (thanks for all the cool stuff by the way!). Would you share experience on success rate with this approach?
Thanks for your help! |

| no you do not have to follow the menus in the book... they are just an idea of what to eat. |

and when u get to P2, the transition plan here is a better approach than the 14 days in the book as well, so in that case, it's better to follow the slow transtioning approach here than jump in full bore with the book menus for p2.
success rates are probably no better or worse than any other lifestyle change program. very few are actually willing to do what it takes to eat this way for the rest of their lives. those that do are successful at both losing and maintaining at or near goal weights. those that do it for awhile may only lose only to gain it back when they return to previous eating patterns. like most things in life, it is simply what you make of it. good luck! |

| Thank you for letting me know about the broken link! I'll have to go through and update, and make sure there aren't others. |
