I know there are healthier ww pizzas that I can make, but I don't wanna. <pout> A little background-I am on week 3 of p2. Nobody's home, but me. Before beach, we ate pizza at least once a week. Did I mention that I love pizza? Well, haven't had pizza in over a month, and I want one. Since no one else is home, I don't feel like cooking anything. Was going for take-out, but choices are limited. And SB friendly foods are even more limited. Grrr. Sorry, just venting, until I can decide what I want to have for dinner.

If you can muster the strength to get together some ingredients and cook something, you might try the eggplant lasagna recipe posted here:
http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7738

It is very reminiscent of pizza and pasta, and fine for all phases. And most importantly, very tasty. (It refrigerates well.)

at the risk of sounding like a hermit! It is cool when I get the house to myself. The teenagers are doing their thing. DH is out and I get to make a single serving of what ever food I want that is SBD friendly. The TV is mine and I can watch all of the Sex in the City reruns that I want! A rate occurance around here but make the best of it!

Sieze the opportunity! Make a SBD friendly pizza. You would be suprised at how good it will taste after not having pizza for while. The (water) glass is always half full!

I'm making the eggplant lasagne now and it looks delicious! I'd advise you to make the whole lot as it takes quite a long time to prepare (unless you have a massive broiler to do the aubergine!), I've done so and I plan to freeze individual portions to have during the week.

I did try to limit the amount of oil and cut down on the cheese too, otherwise it's quite fatty.

Thanks for the ideas. I ended up going to Wendy's and had grilled chicken sandwich (w/o bun) and chilli. I know, too many meat and not enough veggies, but not too terrible. Unless you count the soda I had, but a rare occurence.

I will have to try that lasagna recipe sometime. Sounds yummy. I made a pizzaette recipe sometime that used eggplant at the crusts. The best part of it was that there was enough sauce to cover the taste of the eggplant. It did take care of pizza craving for awhile. I'm willing to give eggplant another try.

I was loving having the house to myself! It was so quiet. I am a stay-at-home mom, so I get the house to myself everyday. Rarely at night, however. I get tired of cooking for only myself sometimes, but no biggie.

Have you tried the eggplant recipe using zucchini? I love it that way! (and I don't grill the zuke, just slice it length wise and layer like lasagna) Also, have you checked out the recipe threads for pizza ideas? I make meatza pizza alot and LOVE it! Basically you cook up some ground sirloin and mix it with 2 eggs, mash it on the bottom of a baking pan and then add your pizza sauce, mozz cheese and whatever other stuff you like. (I had tons of veggies and shaved ham) YUMMY! Or you could use WW boboli for a crust, or multigrain/WW flat bread as a crust! As you can tell, I love pizza, too. :D When worst comes to worst and the rest of my family has ordered pizza around me, I make sure to get a veggie one and scrape the toppings off.

the boboli is terrible imo for 1 slice of pizza its over 2 grain servings I believe. I take a ww tortilla spray with oil toast in oven, add nsa sauce, mozz, turkey pep, marinated artichoke hearts, green peppers and onions. Also you could buy a frozen sbd pizza its better than ordering out :D

I think the frozen Kashi pizzas are phase 2 legal. I haven't had them- a friend loves them though.

the first ingredient is wheat flour. that's white flour. sorry. not SBD friendly.

Crust (wheat flour, crust mix [wheat gluten, oat flour, oat fiber, oat syrup solids, barley malt extract, triticale flour, brown rice flour, red wheat flour, rye flour, salt, barley flour, buckwheat flour, sesame seed], water, yeast, ground flaxseed, extra virgin olive oil, garlic), cheese blend (mozzarella cheese [pasteurized part-skim cow's milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes], white cheddar cheese [pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, calcium chloride], yellow cheddar cheese [pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes, calcium chloride, annatto color], asiago cheese [pasteurized part-skim cow's milk, cheese cultures, salt, microbial rennet]), sauce (diced tomatoes [diced tomatoes, tomato juice, salt, calcium chloride, citric acid], roasted red bell pepper pesto [roasted red bell peppers, expeller-pressed canola oil, parmesan cheese (pasteurized part-skim cow's milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes), balsamic vinegar, basil, sea salt, granulated garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper], tomato paste [tomatoes], evaporated cane juice crystals, salt, basil, cornstarch), roasted red peppers, spinach, feta cheese (pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes), roasted red onions.

We don't have the sbd pizzas around here, at least I haven't found them. I like the toasted wheat tortilla as crust, sounds quick and easy.

oohhh, I didn't catch that- you are right- it is the processed stuff. I guess she is so far into phase 3 (3 yrs now) that it doesn't hurt her like it would me!

They are very quick and easy. To be honest the first brand of tortillas we tried I did not like. We now use latortilla factory brand and they are good. Also the sauce its like mia marie or something Ill check my cabinet. Its on the very top shelf at my store hard to find but it doesnt have added sugar. If I needed to get it and my husband wasnt with me Id have to find someone to get it down for me lol. I always have a salad with it as well of course :D

Could you maybe make up some sort of layered fajita style "pizza" with 3 WW tortillas layered with pizza sauce, mozzerella and other SB friendly pizza flavors? Then, you would have enough for a few servings for yourself. Have one quarter of it with a nice crisp salad on the side... yummy....

Speaking of this... is there any SB friendly pepperoni? I really really love pepperoni....

Turkey pepperoni.......
I like to use it on pizza and also make "chips" from it...

Here is a thread with some tasty "pepperoni chip" ideas.
