Hi all! I joined this site 2 years ago, started eating right and lost about 25 lbs. One thing I noticed was that even when I 'cheated' a little bit (ate too much fruit or a slice of garlic bread) I still was still losing on Phase 2. Stress took its toll over the holidays and I've strayed way off course. So, time to hop back into healthy eating and get myself back on track. I think I have gained 10 lbs back from my lowest weight. My clothes still fit (though tight) but I really feel horrible. I can tell the difference when I have too many carbs, and my energy level has plummted.
I just wanted to say hi, and I look forward to looking up new recipes and meeting new people!
South Beach for life!! |

ticker factory changed things around to make their tickers more editable through their site, but if yours was created under their old system, you might have to just go back and recreate it, which was their old "default" option anyway. Once you do, you will get an edit page you can log into to change in the future.
or just use a more user friendly ticker system like www.tickercentral.com ;) |

| DianeB, I'm in the same boat! The big difference is that I gained more and it took a lot longer. Three years ago, I was over 250 Lbs. and a size 20. Over the next two years, I got all the way down to 202 and a size 14 (almost 12!). I was so close to my all time goal of getting in the 100's and into a 12, and I met my (now) husband and just let go of the reins. I gained back a lot of weight over the last year. I'm now 219 and a size 16. I'm back to the Beach but really not losing much, and I had no idea about all of these extra rules that aren't clear from the books that are available on this website. It is REALLY helpful. One thing I still can't find is the basis for the limit on milk intake in a day (no more than 2 servings of FF milk? I don't get it!). I had forgotten all about the 75 calorie limit on sweets, and the one serving of nuts a day. I'm hoping that now that I have these extra limits I'll start seeing some seriouse weight loss. Wish me luck! |

The milk/yogurt limit is 2 cups in P1 and 2-3 cups in P2. The basis for it is that despite the relatively low GI sugars in milk (lactose), too much of it at once or too much of it in a day might cause blood sugar spikes/drops and hunger cravings. Remember that cheeses are considered proteins and do not count against the above dairy limits. Pretty much everything has limits on it in one way or another except non-starchy veggies. Those are pretty much the only "unlimited" food group.
And FWIW, the sweet treat limit was expanded to "75-100" calories per day to allow for the plethora of 100 cal. snack packs. You can still keep it a 75 if it makes more sense for you. Just because something is allowed, doesn't mean you have to max it out! Other than your veggies of course! |
