I'm doing HipHop Abs from time to time, but right now, I'm doing the
Ultimate Fitness Plan from Women Health

http://www.womenshealthmag.com/extras/app/index.php?pages/ufp

I had to adapt some of the exercices, since I don't have steps nor stability balls, but they are quite challenging !

I also played hockey cosom this week, since the team needed a girl. Was fun (and hard on cardio) but also almost strange, since it was my first time since high school (and I never even really played back then!)

I have a lot of ideas, but I need to be more disciplined

Fluidity (strengthening and stretching program) on Monday
my own brand of aerobics, Pilates, and stretching on Tuesday during Biggest Loser
nothing Wednesday
salsa dancing etc. with the BF on Thursday - always a good, fun workout
nothing Friday
Fluidity, then martial arts class, plus usually salsa etc. on Saturday
nothing Sunday

I swap weight training for the Fluidity every 6-8 weeks.

My weight was up a little bit before the holidays, but then I started the salsa dancing and stuff, and I've steadily averaged a pound per week weight loss since around mid-November!

Hi there!
Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I was at 208 also. Anyhow, I finally broke down and went to a personal trainer 4 weeks ago. It was an eye opener.

He told me that if we look at our weight loss success like a pie chart, 50% of our success depends on resistance training (weights, etc.), 40% on our diet, and 10% on cardio. That was really surprising to me since ladies are usually so drawn to the cardio exercises.

With every pound of muscle you gain, you burn 50 extra calories a day - without doing ANYTHING. Gain 10 lbs of muscle, and burn 500 extra calories a day! WOW!

So, he showed me a TON of resistance exercises, lots of core strenghening - many of which are done with one of those exercise balls and a couple of 5 or 8 lb. weights. I wrote ALL of the exercises down. Many can be done from home.

So, basically 3 times a week 30 minutes of resistance training (each day usually focusing on a different group of muscles) followed by 20-30 minutes of cardio has been my basic routine.

I would recommend investing in a few sessions with a personal trainer to learn some new stuff. It has really paid off for me and really, it was very hard for me to finally break down and do it. However, I am glad I did.

Good luck!
