Tried to post this yesterday on my actual 2nd anniversary on the Beach, but I kept encountering technical difficulties.

It has been two years ago today that I embarked upon this journey. I feel absolutely wonderful, and now that the boards are back up, I feel even better!!

In the past two years I have achieved...
1. gone off my medication for GERD
2. radically reduced my dose of anti-anxiety meds
3. established and maintained regular (35-45 day) periods!!
4. reduced facial hair
5. grew thicker hair
6. gained more energy
7. began exercising regularly (at least four days a week)
8. developed more confidence in myself
9. lost around 70 pounds
10. dropped four sizes

I have learned that...
1. it's okay to have a piece of cake once in awhile; cake is a part of life
2. planning is absolutely essential
3. it takes about nine months for the Beach to become habit
4. too many beans, too much cheese, and sushi more than twice a week can cause a stall
5. it is possible to eat healthy and go through major upheavals, like divorce, death of a loved one, and the loss of a beloved pet
6. eating healthy is not harder and does not take more time than eating garbage
7. sometimes you fall of the Beach (for months even), but you get back up, dust yourself off, and keep looking forward; I never, ever beat myself up for eating things I know I shouldn't--not worth it
8. every meal and every snack is an opportunity to do something good for your body--do it!!
9. fill your cabinets and fridge with Beachy food only; don't waste your money on bad foods...you will just eat it and feel disgusting
10. make exerise a daily part of your life; being a gym rat can be fun, but it is not necessary for a healthy life

Thank all of you so much for being there for me in the past two years!! Here's to the rest of our lives. May we keep it Beachy.

Hi pp!!! Good to see an old challenge buddy. Love your new avatar.

I was derailed. Things got ugly with my divorce, I had to travel a lot for work, etc, etc. I never lost sight of the Beach, just the boards. Then the boards were down forever.

I haven't posted any new photos. I don't think I look much thinner yet, though my friends who haven't seen me in more than a year think that I am.

How are you doing?

We need a new challenge....Are you part of one?

wow- 2 years! Congratulations!

I have just passed my 1 year beachiversary! I can't believe how fast one year goes by.

I weighed 164 one year ago- lost 20lbs on this WOL and have had 7 creep back up over the past few months. Normally I would get despondent and give up and return to my old ways. However, I feel that this WOL is so ingrained in me now that I can wake up and start right on a new day and feel as if I haven't missed a step. Its really the first time in my life that I feel I have direct control over what goes into my body and can see the results (both good and bad) of these efforts. I am also walking 3-4 times a week and love how that feels.

Congrats to all- and keep it up!

:)
