Has anyone tried diet pills in combination with the SBD?
I had fallen off the wagon a while back and am back on. I need to drop 10 lbs in 1 month for a trip so I was contemplating it.

Personally, I would not take diet pills in conjunction with any kind of eating plan. At best they are a quick fix by getting rid of water weight. At worst, you can drop dead.

Sqwerl5 - I asked that same question in the "Other Diets" forum. No replies, so I guess noonelse has thought of that type of combo, or tried it. Or maybe they won't admit it. (IMO)

While I DO NOT PROMOTE using diet aids alone, I have since found that they can help in some cases with certain types of weight loss, such as losing water weight (which is very temporary). But if you notice, every "diet pill" out there recommends also following a healthy diet and exercise program to achieve lasting weight loss.

Some diet pills can be addictive, like amphetamines (Phentermine and Adipex) . Others can be a nuisance such as Xenical & Alli, forcing you to eat low fat by giving you diarrhea and GI discomfort if you don't. Either way, using a diet pill along with SBD is the same as using the diet pill with the "enclosed diet & exercise plan" that comes with them.

The bottom line is, it's up to you. I personally will be using one to help me control my portion sizes as I follow the plan, with my doctor's approval.

You can do a quick search to find past comments on this:

If you like, you can go back further. I did the search because I remembered people talking about it and mentioning using them, without good results. There is a reason diet pills seem too good to be true - they are. I certainly would not take them. They can mess with your metabolism and screw everything up. If you are eating healthy and exercising (which is what all of the bottles of diet pills say you must do also), then you shouldn't need them - honestly. SBD works. Just stick with it.

If you want to lose water weight, here are some suggestions (even though I don't really think it's necessary): do Phase 1 of SBD. **Drink lots of water.** Take a water pill (talk to your doctor about this first).

I take 2 green tea tablets every day along with a vitamin B complex. They give me an extra boost. but actual diet pills. no trying to do this naturally so it stays off this time. I have lost it before but never LEARNED how to keep it off. I have learned allot this time around and feel more confident about it. Hang in there.

I used them before my wedding. They really helped me at that time.

Unfortunately, weaning myself off of them afterward was my downfall. My energy levels fell, my appetite came back full force, not having the energy I was used to I got depressed. I don't think I will ever use them again, mostly because I wont be getting married again.

I literately felt like I was quiting a speed habit.

Honestly I plan to get to my goal weight and possibly lower without pills just so I can say I did it without pills and surgery. I dont really think its worth the risk of what they can do to you.
