| Ok, for those of us that are or were obese when you lost weight, do you have extra skin? Or did you use lotion or anything to help. I am affraid that I will loose weight in my stomach and then have skina dn it will look gross. Odviously better then it looks now, but I was just wondering. Thanks :) |

| Im not really worried about it. If I really feel like its gross and I have kept the weight off for like a year I will probably have cosmetic surgery to correct it. |

| I just can't imagine that "extra skin" or whatever will look any worse than skin full of fat/rolls of blubber??????? |

| Probably not but if youve worked really hard and you still cant wear cute outfits because of the lumpyness of the excess skin I can understand. My mother lost a lot of weight and she has excess skin but she is older so I dont know if that has anything to do with it. She didnt lose as much as I need to though. |

is anyone brave enough that has already lost the weight and gone from 200+ to 150+ and show a picture?
I am sure it is better then fat, but I am just wondering. And if it looks good did they use some lotion or something? |

i once lost 60 pounds and got down almost ten pounds from goal and I had some skin.
and yes my breasts were saggy and yes i thought it was insanely ugly.
uglier than the fat to be honest. but healthier...
now i've lost 60 pounds and i still have 50 more to go and i have no skin yet... but i am sure i will.
sadly it's going to depend on your genes as much as mositurizer and such |

| I have alot of loose skin but I think the fat looked alot grosser. It is prevalent in my genes to have loose skin too. I had some when I was heavy too from pregnancy. I never have had sexy, taught skin even as a young girl. I remember having loose skin in my inner thighs when I was 10 so I really can't speak for everyone. I really don't like loose skin but I like it alot better than rolls of fat. I |

| I think it depends, too, on how fast you lose the weight. If the pounds come off more slowly, your skin has an easier time adapting and shrinking to fit the smaller body. I had two babies, and my skin was loose after giving birth and then it tightened up. Of course, maybe the tightening was due to the FAT I was putting on . . . |

| My sister lost a large anount of weight (70 lbs with LA weightloss). She definitely has extra skin now. I spoke with my docotr about it and he told me that it is partly due to genes but also due to the amount of water the person is drinking. H2O promotes skin elasticity and helps the skin shrink a little. The other alrenative would be the cosmetic surery. But I would only do that if the weight has been off for a minimum of 1 year. IMHO |

| Hey all! I too, have that excess tummy skin! I realize that after two babies (one over 10 lbs.) that I'll never have a smooth tummy again, but I'm ok with that! |

| I had a friend that had liposuction a few years ago and I went to her appointments with her. Because you have a drastic loss of fat she had to wear this girdle like thing to push her skin up to her body so it wouldn't sag later. I wonder if the same concept would work as losing weight...if you wear some kind of tight fitted outfit under your clothes, maybe it would help a little.. |

You're talking about a surgical compression garment which is worn after plastic surgery to reduce swelling.
Wearing a tight girdle as you lose weight would just have the effect of making you very uncomfortable. |
