Constant hunger

I have been experiencing constant hunger for a few months. It varies in intensity and I can even feel "full" but still feel hungry, like it's overlapping.

When this first started, about 8 months ago, I was eating like your typical pressed-for-time university student. A lot of cafeteria food, a lot of subs (I gained about 8-10 lbs). I went to the doctor after it'd gone on for a few months and had bloodwork done, which came back completely 100% normal. He told me to lay off on the bad food, so I started cooking my own meals again. It lessened but never fully went away. Over the summer for whatever reason the feeling mostly subsided. It came back around August, stuck around as I ate half-healthy half-unhealthy until I went into Phase 1 in October. It still didn't go away. I'm on Phase 2 and reintroducing fruit and still nothing.

Has anyone ever experienced this? What did it turn out to be? How dod you get rid of it?

Are you sure it is hunger and not cravings?

Do you drink at least 8 cups of water a day? Or other non-diet, caffeine free beverages? Sometimes thirst is mistaken for hunger.

have you been evaluated for an ulcer or GERD? Do you get nasty tasting mouth when you're feeling that hunger? I have that problem a lot when I'm eating too many raw veggies/salad. My stomach will grind and growl and ache - and I KNOW I have had adequate amount of food both in terms of volume and calories/nutrients.

When it gets really bad, I'll take OTC version of tagamet or zantac - I'm not recommending that as first course of action, but I've been diagnosed already. I'd also suggest having more cooked veggies, cheese sometimes helps me- I can't go to heavy with fruits either. Just some ideas - hope it helps.

The original post is from October! Then the OP came back and made one post (on a different thread) in January. I don't think these messages are going to reach the person you're trying to help.
