Hi! I have IBS also and while SBD wasn't created for IBS (it was created for cardiac patients) I personally have found that I feel MUCH better. I think limiting saturated fats (and eliminating deep-fried garbage) is what has helped me. Maybe it's the amount of the fiber because of all the veggies, too.
Good luck - I wouldn't be surprised if you started to feel better in a few weeks, too. |

| After my gallbladder surgery I got IBS really bad to the point I couldn't leave the house. I've done a 180 being on SBD. Besides loosing weight on SBD a side benefit is that IBS is taken care of. |

| I always thought I was lactose intolerant and/or had IBS, but since starting SBD I've found that I have had considerably fewer gastro issues. I think all the crap that is in processed foods must have a lot to do with it. |

I have IBS but had found after that diagnosis that I had sensitivities to some foods----dairy, soy and yeast. If I eat anything with these I get the symptoms! so will be "interesting" to see how SB will be since I am eating the string cheese and cottage and ricotta cheeses. I'm on Phase 1 x 4 days presently...and haven't had any blotting or diarrhea BUT am a bit bound up (TMI?) So I added some flaxseed oil and Metamucil to some water this a.m. and will see what that does. I'm eating LOTS of veggies so can't figure out the why of how things are going.
I also take probiotics which seem to help the IBS symptoms. |

| I also have IBS and found that the SBD calmed it down quite considerably. Thing is that raw veggies sometimes kick it up so I just stay on Citrucel once per day and all seems to go better. If raw veggies cause trouble, simply switch to steamed ones. V8 also gives you lots of veggies too. Staying off the fried or overly fat-filled foods will make life so much better for you. |
