| I was thinking about doing it to make some extra money. Has anyone ever done this? Do you have any advice, stories, experiences? |

don't...
IMO if you want to go out there and work your butt off - you can make darn good money - but that's a full time, almost 24/7 kind of thing. My mom was the Tupperware queen, but she held 2-3 shows 6 days a week, sometimes 4. I've tried a couple of things a couple of times and if you have to buy supplies, go out and market, deliver or pay postage - I'm just not sure you ever see a profit. That's just my opinion of course - unless you want to do it big! That said, I am a mary kay consultant - primarily so that I can get my products at cost and just over cost for my family and a few co-workers.
The money makers seriously are out there recruiting and getting their money the good old pyramid way!!! |

Lol, well I took the plunge and I'm doing The Body Shop at Home. My kit was actually pretty cheap (100 bucks for about 700-800 bucks worth of stuff) and I love the Body Shop anyway because they're community trade, cruelty-free, vegetarian, etc. I figured I might as well sell what I buy myself. Plus I'm not looking to make the big bucks, just some extra money to pay off my travelling debts.
How's Mary Kay? I went to a Mary Kay party once and it was nice. I didn't buy anything but they had a really nice moisturizer I would have bought if I would have remembered to. |

I like it as a product. I just could never corral strangers and talk them into letting me come into their home and give them facials...it's too weird for me! Although I will say I gave it the best shot I could. I think some people are just not cut out to be in sales!
I'm not familiar with body shop. I have a forum friend who makes the most exellent bath products, candles, etc - all environmental/animal friendly - my bathroom is FULL of jars and bottles. |
