Well just got done with phase one and have lost 12 lbs. For mothers day my family hubby and kids bought me a podometer. Oh my...I thought I walked a lot during the day.
In order to get 10,000 steps in a day I have to go on the tread mill for 45-50 minutes.
Figured since going into phase 2 tomorrow that now is the time to start my journal as I have 58 more lbs to loose I will be here for the long haul. |

Hi Shae! You and I have similar stats/goals. Hopefully we can help each other out here! :D
Congrats on losing 12 pounds - that is fantastic! A great way to finish off phase one.
I'm going to be using the treadmill as well. With the summer months here, it's just too darned hot to walk outside for too long. 45-50 minutes sounds okay though!
Enjoy phase two - I'm a few days behind ya, but the thought of eating strawberries on Monday morning is what is getting me through the end of the week! |

Sorry been a crazy week. Just got time now to read the forums. Thank you all for the support.
The treadmill is working great. I found I end up doing 45-50 minutes a day regardless it seems how busy my day is. But if I try to break it up and do some around lunch then the rest at night after the kids are in bed it is do able. I can feel a big difference in the fit of my clothing. So I recommend that everyone does their best to get out and walk, walk, walk.

I would love a "life change" partner. I have decided that I am not going to look at this as a diet, it is really a "life change" to become and stay healthy. It helps so much to have another to talk to. My hubby is doing this but men and women loose so differently that its tough to use each other to balance with. I am going to go and buy strawberrys today. That is the one fruit that I am really excited to be able to eat again. Phase 1 is tough but you will be done with it before you know it.
lilmiss99523 - Don't look at this as a "diet" it is really a matter of making healthy choices for your life. Two years ago I was 170, the 50 lbs snuck on so fast. So my advice to you is that you don't pass or fail in life and the same goes for you choice to eat better. Take one day at a time and the choices will get easy as the time goes on. I even bought a 3 dozen cookies for my kids and only had three bites of my kids cookies for the four days they were in the house. The old me would have choosen to have three for breakfast every morning with my coffee till they were gone. So hang in there we are all here for you.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really appricate it. |

OK...stood on the scale and it has dropped another 3 lbs. So that makes a total of 15 lbs off now. It is really hard to not "cheat" a wee bit, thank the good lord for fudgies, now that I know I have lost some. But I keep concentrating on the fact that I have a whole lot more to loose. I will have a cookie on the day I reach 150 and celebrate. But gone are the days of having three like my kids do, I am *coughs* old now and my body chem has slowed down so I need to change how I eat and get healthy again.
Since Mothers day I have walked a total of 18 miles. The good news is that the 10,000 steps a day are getting much easier as the weeks go on. So that is encouraging on its own. I one day will be running three days a week, 3-5 miles again. The smaller, leaner and stronger me is in here I just have to walk until I find her. |

Congrats again Shae - the scale is moving in the right direction, and that's what counts!
I'll pm you with my e-mail address - I'd love to have a partner in crime, er, dieting!
Btw, had strawberries for my afternoon snack yesterday, and they were the best strawberries I've ever eaten! |

| Blows dust off the journal. Boy has been a while since I have been in here. But thankfully I am still doing SB. Still loosing at 199 now, but stuck. Doing 10,000 steps five days a week but going to have to add toning to my routine to get the scale to move south more. :D |
