I think sometimes I'm interested in too many types of crafts!
I like cross-stitching, beading, sewing, and crocheting; those are in order of how adept I am by the way lol.
Right now I'm within a day or two of finishing the biggest project I have ever attempted to complete Gold Collection Japanese Maiden ( I think thats what its called or at least what I've been calling it. LoL It has taken over 2 years of on and off again working on it and soon it will be done!
It's huge and before that my biggest project was a christmas stocking I made for my future husband for christmas.
I'll be glad to finish it and then I can get started on some christmas projects to give to people as presents ^_^ Thankfully ornaments don't take me as long to make :) |

Hi Gamergirl,
I LOVE crafts, and have one room in my house dedicated as my Craft Room. The door stays closed ALL the time, (4 cats will get into everything), and my hubby only goes in there if he's looking for me.
I Love to do beadwork, sew, occasional x-stitch, papercrafts, polymer clay, scrapbooking, .... my room is FULL of craft/art supplies.
This week I've been making earrings like crazy, have a fair to go to this weekend where I'll have a booth to sell my jewelry. :D
I'd love to see your completed 2-year project! Feel free to PM me sometime!!
~wabbit~
P.s. what games are you into? I'm a huge sims2 fan. |

I do a bit of everything, but I mostly crochet and sew. I usually have a few projects going on at a time and bounce around between them when I get bored. Right now, I'm working on:
- crocheted baby blanket - I'm so sick of working on this though. I made 7 of the same baby blankets last year for friends!
- patchwork quilt
- baby quilt |

Hi you guys sorry it took me all the way until the following saturday to respond things have been crazy around here.
oh_what_a_wabbit Hi!
Wow a whole room your lucky ^_^ I guess I'd kind of have a room like that near the back of their house but it seems everytime I clean it, it gets full of stuff again. It's one of those hmm we dont have a use for it rooms so lets put stuff in it so the rest of the house looks nice... *sigh*
Kitties are just naturally curious beings, they can't help if their work of art looks like a big mess to you. lol
I'll get a picture of my finished project and load it on here so you all can see it. I'll have to wait till next week though my husband went out of the country this week and ran off with our camera! =oP
Lets see the games I like? Well I like online games MMORPGS like Everquest 2, City of Heroes/Villians, WoW, and Guild Wars (I have to rotate though the first 3 cost money and it can get expensive.)
I also like the RPG games where you save the world and beat up the bad guy. For example Final Fantasy series and the like.
Whats it like working with polymer clay? Do you make figures or beads or what with it? Good luck at your fair!
JMCP: My mom crochet's she made this gigantic tapestry sized blanket once of an indian man in the desert or mountain region something like that. It's beautiful and all she had to look at was a picture she'd seen in a readers digest to go off of I believe. I wish she would make another awesome blanket like it because both my sister and I want it someday. She's really busy though so I guess she hasn't gotten around to it yet.
I'm trying to learn more about sewing, I made a costume earlier this year for an even with help from my sister in law it turned out great but I think I need to practice some more... I don't know what I would have done if she hadn't been there to help me along the way! ^_^
At least baby blankets are small right? You can do it hang in there!

| Wow, that blanket sounds awesome! I'm good at making my own pattern and creating something new, but I'm terrible at following a pattern - very odd! When I was little, I stayed with my grandmother and great-grandmother during the day while my parents were at work - no daycare. They taught me all of the crafty things I know. At 4 years old, I was crocheting Barbie blankets and making snowflakes! It's something that has stayed with me over the years and I think of them whenever I pick up a hook! I do have a blanket from each my grandmother and great-grandmother and I love to wrap them around me. I miss them both so much - using their blankets is like getting a hug from them. :D |

I like origami, I go to bookstores and libraries to find various patterns and such. Its a lot of fun :)
I just got this book on origami flowers and it has directions for about 20 beautiful flowers you can create and put in planters and never have to water them! I'm going to be making some for my mom and DBF's mom for christmas this year :)

I've been making jewelry for a few years, first using polymer clay, nowadays using various purchased beads. I buy my beads from anywhere, really - specialized bead shops, charity shops, e-Bay, etc.
I also used to paint on silk, making paintings and silk scarves. Unfortunately I moved to central London and my flat is too small now. :(
I always make my own cards, especially Christmas cards.
I am dreaming of moving to a larger place and having enough space to paint on silk again, and maybe buy a sewing machine and try making patchwork quilts... |

i consider myself crafty
i knit a bit, love to scrapbook & more
i love stuff like altered books too!
my knitting projects are on hold right now b/c i am moving so i packed it all up - i hope to find an armoire style piece of furniture that i can use for my projects.
actually crafts are in my blood b/c my parents have a business - they make and sell their jewelry at hi-end craft shows.
we have been crafty since i'm about 2 - so that's about 36 years!
i also sell fabric for a living - mainly fabric for quilting, which is huge OUTSIDE of Long Island and Manhattan. I love to see what people can create with their hands! I am sure there are lots of quilters out there!
Have you seen the website Etsy? |

Wow lots of crafty people here on the boards! :)
Right now I'm trying to make my Halloween costume in time for a party at the end of the month. The theme is classic monsters, so I decided to go as a mummy and figured it would be warmer too its usually cold where they live and the party is outside. My sewing skills are still being learned so I figured with a mummy costume no one would be able to tell the difference anyway LoL
I almost have the pants done and then I can work on the top. My husband has been on a business trip so I didn't have anyone to help me do some pinning the fabric in place so I could sew it afterwards. I dont have a sewing dummy. I'm lucky I have the sewing machine, LoL.
My husband is going to be Dracula last I heard. It should be a fun party. |

I make jewelry with beads, is that the same thing your talking about?
It is kind of daunting at first, all those little tools you need to buy and stuff but it depends on how into the craft you want to get.
I have a friend who is "very" into making jewelry with her beads and she has 6 or more large tackleboxes full of 4 or 5 trays each with beads in them.
I just have 1 and it barely has 1 and a half trays filled so far. LoL
I'd go to a Jo-anns or other craft store and look in their beading section sometimes they have kits that sell a beading board (so you can arrange your design before you string it) and it also may come with tools, and string material. I think I bought a package like that at Jo-anns for like $10.00 or something like that and it had its own carrying case.
Now for storing beads you could buy plastic storage cases at the Jo-Anns or go down to Walmart in the fishing section and buy the plastic cases there. They are bigger and some of them have adjustable slots. Also tackle boxes that you can put those plastic cases in are nice too if you want a way to store it out of the way or to take your beads on the go with you.
I bought a big red one that fits about 5 large plastic trays and had two side compartments and one in the front which I use for tools.
Also @ walmart I found a nice small case in the craft section with tic-tac like boxes which are great for seed beads because they are so small and you can store them in the closed container so they don't go all over the place.
I hope that was helpful ^_^
If you have any other questions send me a pm or post here. |

I also play Wow...I pretty much stick with just that one though.
As for crafts, I've done cross-stitch and ceramics. My thing right now is crocheting. I've been teaching myself for about the past year and have really enjoyed it. It's easy to sit in front of the TV and relax and do it and it doesn't make a big mess. So far I've managed to keep my cat out of the yarn, but not my dog... |

ABSOLUTELY!! I love some crafts. Actually right now I am thinking if I want to make Christmas presents like I did last year. Everyone loves homemade things, especially if they actually use them. I like making blankets, scarfs, tobaggens ( i call them beanies), and anything else. I am about to start on a Snowman.
:P
And scrapbooking is fun too!!! :D |

I found that if I take a shoebox or photo storage box, poke a hole in the side and put the yarn in (with cover on) the animals seem not to bother with it b/c they don't see the "ball" of yarn! Just pull the yarn through the hole and crochet or knit!! :D |
