Biking

So instead of possibly doing more harm than good with pilates, I've decided to bust out my bike and ride that a few times a week to keep myself at least physically active...tone will have to wait until I'm properly instructed on how to achieve such results. And I don't really like jogging that much at all, so I think this will be a nice compromise for now.

So my question is (for all you elite bikers out there) What would you suggest be a decent amount of time to ride and have it be somewhat beneficial to my weight loss, and what might be an appropriate time to just maintain and stay active (when I've reached my new goal)

Obviously I'm just going to have to get out there and figure it out, but a little guidance couldn't hurt? Thanks guys!

If your goal is to burn fat then the more time you spend at approx 60-80% of your MHR the better. 45min-1hr is a good place to start and longer on the weekends if you can. If you are trying to improve cycling fitness then the answer gets more complicated.
