Yep, today when I weighed in, I was at 239, which means I've lost 50 LBS since I started 11 months ago!
When I started, I was wearing 2x pants. I refused to admit it at the time, but I think i was at least a sixe 22. I refused to wear anything above a size 20. I refused to buy and wear size 20 jeans.
Now, I am pretty much comfortably in size 18's. I can wear size 18 jeans!
It has taken me almost a year, and there have been many 'bumps in the road' but I've finally made it this far!!
I am a person who has a Thyroid disorder, which means I have a slow metabolism so I don't loose weight fast. I've also had foot problems pretty much the whole time, so I haven't always been able to excercise like a lot of people (thank heavns I can weight train and ride a stationary bike).
there have also been other obstacles in my life that I've had to deal with as well. My husband and I are low- income, so money is always a concern. Also, my husband is disabled (which I'm used to, and usually can handle). Add to that that he has been in pain since May from what we finally discovered was a herniated disc in his back, and finally was able to have surgery on it 3 weeks ago and is still recovering from it.
I'm almost half way to my goal, and hope to be more than half way by my Beachiversary next month!!!
Yes, it has been slow, but I have kept at it the best I possibly could in my circumstances.
We all have challenges here. As long as we keep trying, even with our challenges, we can do it!!! |
