i have done well on SB, 15 pounds in the past 3 months. i took some pictures of myself last night and was a little grossed out by my wrists/hands. they are beginning to look bony. i still have 10 pounds to lose and it is all in my hips, thighs and belly.

to those who have been in a similar situation, will my arms continue to get thinner as i lose more weight, or will the loss focus more on areas with more to lose? i am concerned that if my upper body continues to shrink, i will look unhealthy. i don't want to look too thin in some areas just to look the way i want in others.

I just started PH 2 and lost 6 lbs on PH 1.

When I did WW a few years back. (5'4" tall) I got down to 123 and everyone said i actually looked anorexic but i still had my hips/thighs, i can never seem to lose it there. My face and my hands, wrist were bony looking also. I really wanted to get down to at least 115, but i stalled at 123.

I guess what I'd say is to try and get what you want through exercise. Try strengthening and toning your upper body to try and "match" it to your lower body. When I was younger I thought I was "fat" - I realize now (in looking at pics) that I was just not proportioned right - I was much too thin on top and normal-bigger on bottom.

good advice nygirl22. my stomach/hips/thighs have always been an area of concern. bulking up a bit in my arms may be the only way to look proportioned.

I forgot you said your belly too. Ya know what though -- in my experience, I think that the non-problem areas seem to shrink first - for me it's my tummy. And then when it looks ok to me, and I want the shrinking to move onto my thighs/butt, my tummy seems to get a little flatter. But then the shrinking DOES move on and then my stomach/arms are the last to really shrink down again. Does that make sense?

So what I'm saying is -- I think for you the weight loss will probably move to different places and not make you look too thin in the non-problem areas.

it does make sense, my body is getting rid of its excess fat. at first, that fat was all over my body, so i lost a bit of fat everywhere. but now i probably just look bony in some spots because the extra fat there is gone. as i continue to lose excess fat it will start to come off of the only places that have it left, my problem areas.

Dosen't it always work that way. The areas that most women want to lose weight in (hips, thighs, butt, belly) are the last and hardest things to lose. My hands and wrists have always been small, but now my rings are loose on me :? Go figure!!
