Hello,

My significant other and I have been on SB for 6 weeks now. I am fully on Stage 2 and last weekend I messed up.

I started at 278 and am down to 244. I am 6'3" and I haven't lost A POUND in over a week now. Am I doing something wrong? I haven't changed my eating habits as far as sticking to the plan, but I did mess up last weekend (ate two corndogs and beer at some fair)...

Suggestions?

you've lost 33 pounds in 6 weeks for an average of 5.5 pounds PER WEEK

you've done nothing wrong. just keep on going.

weight loss in neither linear, predictable nor comparable. Sometimes if you have been losing that much for awhile, your body will just take a break for awhile to catch up and normalize before starting to let the weight come off again. Can't explain it, but it just is. Good time to practice a P3 mindset where you will do everything "right" for the rest of your life and not lose anymore anyway. ;) At some point we have to learn to eat well and healthily for it's own sake and for our health and well being regardless of the feedback from the scale.

jhdo4e - if it has been only a week and you are sticking to the SB way of eating, I would not stress. There will be days or weeks at a time when you will probably experience fluctuations or stalls. I'm in the middle of week 5 since starting, and there was a week where the scale didn't move, and there was a period of days where I was up 2 lbs. A lot can factor into a stall or gain. Keep going!

RedRox, you are the voice of wisdom. I really like your healthy attitude about weight loss. It has taken us a few tries on diets before we came to SB to come to the right frame of mind about changing our diet, but DH and I finally feel like we are doing this as a way to live better (and of course, lose some excess weight in the process). Like you say, if you go ON a diet, you will eventually go OFF that diet. :)

So, I neglected to mention we haven't been doing any exercise at all, just losing the weight. So today I had an awakening.

I just got done walking 3 miles... maybe I need to do this everyday to jump start my system? Maybe my body is trying to tell me something? I know I seem like an idiot... but this suddenly occured to me.

Thoughts?

can't hurt, should help. regular exercise is good for your overall health anyway. You should incorporate exercise of some kind at some point, so no time like the present!
