Anyone watch this?
Any thoughts on the first episode?
I have watched each season. It's amazing too me.
I know the weight drops fast, and they may not keep it off due to that, but I find it amazing. |

Yeah I did. In prior years, I've never watched the first show. I could not believe how much weight they lose the first week (is it the first week or 2 weeks?). Either way - it's insane! That one girl lost 20 pounds so she got to 205 -- I guess I can see how someone who weighs 400 lbs. can lose 20 but she did great. Another lost 30 pounds (right?) - that older man and he was almost at 300 lbs.
Just crazy. I'd be so excited. I wish I could be trained by them. I'd probably hate it. |

| I felt bad though because she was one that REALLY needed to be there. But somebody had to go. |

I also watch this show.
As far as the girl who got kicked off the show last night, I agree that she needed to be there as much as everyone else, but she was the one who wined EVERY DAY (from what they showed us). It didn't seem to me like she was giving 100%, and I don't blame the rest of her team for voting her off. But that wasn't really nice of them to all gang up on her right after the weigh in (in my opinion). But then again, when they ganged up on her and she said she would give 100%, I wasn't convinced. She didn't sound very enthusiatic or defensive (like you'd think someone who REALLY wanted to be there would be).
I really was impressed with her update-- she's lost what, 65 lbs on her own. That is awesome!!
The others did awesome as well.
It's gonna be fun to see their reactions when they meet the black team!! |

I agree with you Rhales. I felt like they were jumping all over her. Now, she was complaining and saying she wanted to go home, but I probably would be too. It was a very uncomfortable situation for them. They were being pushed way beyond their 'limits' at that point. They way they jumped on her, I felt like they were acting like they had it all figured out. I am sure at least one other person thought 'i want to go home'. I know I would. I wasn't convinced either, but I am glad she is went home and kept going. I had my doubts.
I was a little disturbed by lezlye. when they walked into the weigh in, she stated something to the effect of 'i was a bit nervous because they have some fat people on their team'. hmmmm.....now, who is she too judge? i know the reference she was making-the more to lose, the quicker it drops off-but wasn't that a bit rude? I felt she really could have chosen her words better. Just my opinion.
Love the older guy---he is awesome!!! He beat everyone on the run.
So glad Jillian is back.
And...finally....is anyone else 'in love' with Bob like me??
I have their work out video, and he does it. LOVE HIM! |

Too true! But then she went home and lost 65 pounds. Good for her! That'd be great if she could win that $100,000 that they award the person who loses the most out of the voted-off at the end. She still has a lot to lose, so she could do it.
I enjoyed this episode. It's really fun how they're bringing back the surprise black team, and I'm glad Jillian is back, too. Looking forward to the rest of the season! |

| I love the fact that they have the at home players competing for money too. It really gives them the incentive to keep losing. |

| I plan to get the last few seasons on dvd or tivo them when they do a marathon - i assume that will happen at some point. i want to be motivated by these folks. i remember a couple of years ago when the show was new, and i watched the first season. i think i saw them all on one day when they reran them. it was so encouraging! i remember a 30-something lady who also quit smoking at the same time. I don't know if she won the competition, but they showed her at a reunion of the cast several months later, and she was like a size 2 hard-body, really looking great like someone who was never overweight looks. that was really encouraging to see. |

I watched last season's show when it was on a marathon - now I'm hooked! I'm so happy to be watching it from the beginning now.
I don't know anything about Jillian - why did she leave the show previously? |

Jillian is CRAZY!!!! She's a hard core trainer. I view her as a 'no frills' trainer. She definatley brings it on. I think I would hate her working with her, but I would love her results. I like her. She's hard core.
I think she left to pursue a lot of personal stuff in regards to work outs. She has a website with a whole lot goin on! |
