| Sometimes I feel like I am the only one with the lame questions but here goes... Has anyone noticed that they actually get shorter after they've gained weight? The reason is because I went to the doctor the other day and the doc marked me down as 5'2 even though I used to be measured as 5'3. I know whoa an inch.... but when you're short like me, and inch makes a HUGE difference. =/ |

| I would request a second heigth check. I have NEVER heard of loosing heigth because you gained weight. If the height measurement is right, then I would start looking into other things. Osteoperosis can cause that and I think there are some other things. I could be wrong though...what are others thinking? |

This is a new one...
Maybe you lost a lot of weight from the top of your head? The bottom of your feet?
I'd suspect inaccurate data. |

| My doctor said that you tend to lose height as you age. I don't know. I think people can just be lazy and not try to get a very accurate measurement too. I was 5'10" in high school. |

i don't think it has to do with weight.... folks shrink as they age. their vertebra compress more. you are taller first thing in the morning..
i used to be 5'4 3/4." now i'm 5'2 3/4" |

| Pilates as well. It helps you have better posture and lengthen yourself back to more normal proportions. |
