I have been on the South Beach Diet since Novemeber. I have fallen by the way side several times but have managed to get back on track again.
The thing is I cannot get over the 50 pound hump.
Any suggestions???

What are you currently doing exercise-wise? If you are not doing resistance training (i.e. weights) then incorporating that into your workout schedule is what I would suggest, as well as switching up your cardio for a different kind of workout.

I am doing the treadmill for 30 minutes for 2 miles. I also have a Gazelle here at home and I use it at about the same pace. When I started the weights the weight stopped coming off and I got frustrated and fell off the diet.
Thanks for the tips 8)

Tigger, you may have been gaining muscle when you started using weights...

I thought about and realize now that I need to mix it up, maybe rotate the days so I do weights one day and the cardio on the others. I only go to the gym 4 days a week I try to give myself some down time, but I know that I can get the weight off. Some times it does not take much to slip and fall off again. Thanks for all the encouragement.

As Cortcase as mentionned, you'll probably gain some weight (or stop losing weight) when you start lifting weights. It's totally ok, because it's muscle weight.

Your scale may not move the way you want, but within a few weeks, you should start notice some changes in your body (like some place will feel/look firmer that they were).

On the long run, it'll help you lose weight, because muscle burns more calories than fat.

When the scales do not move is when I get so down and start thinking about those items I would turn to for comfort. Thanks for all the postive feed back... I have started the rotation of weights and cardio so we will see what happens. Have to get over this hump! :)
