Hi. Today is a special day - my DD's first day of kindergarten. Yesterday we both went to the school for an hour-long orientation program, but at the end of the hour, Momma and Beka left together.
Today I was good until I got back out in the parking lot and it fully hit me that I wasn't taking my baby back home with me. I lost it and started crying. Not as bad as some people, but I"m not one that cries very easily.
Anyway, I've been very excited for her, and Beka has setteled into her class and routine well already. But after trying to regain some composure, I ran to Walmart to buy more whole wheat flour to make waffles and freeze ahead for future breakfasts.
Well, I was still upset enough that I was experiencing that BINGE temptation feeling - you know, when your emotions are all wild and all you want to do is stuff your face?
Well, I walked past the chip aisle with no problems. I even went past the chocolate without stopping. But I was drawn to the Chienese heat-and-eat egg rolls in the deli case. I haven't had Chienese egg rolls in forever. But I flipped over the package and read: 110 cals each, almost 400mg salt. There are 5 in the package. Good Lord knows I'd eat all 5: that's 550 cals and 2,000 mg salt.
I PUT THEM BACK! Before SB, I would not have even hesitated giving into the binge feelings, and would have never read the package. I feel so good about myself.
So, right now, I'm making the healthy waffles that my daughter loves. I can't wait to hear about her first day at school... |

Awwww!
In a couple of years you will look forward to the first day of school!! I know my mom always did! Although I'm one of six children so when school was out, things were hectic!
Congrats on putting those egg rolls down!!
I hope your daughters first day is fantastic :) |

| Don't worry, after awhile you'll welcome back to school time and welcome some Mom time. I only have one more left to start school before I experience that. They love school at that age too. |

| Youv'e only just begun!! Don't worry it won't be long and your'e gonna want school to start back :D This year was the first one that I actually hated for it to start back. My baby son began high school this is my olders sons last year, HIS LAST YEAR!! I hate to think of it, when school started back this year all I could think was: My babies are becoming men!! Now that is a real kicker!! :cry: But it's okay we've raised them right and I know there are plenty "mommy" days left :D |

| I have three kids - when my first one went to Kindergarten, my DH had to come home because I took it so bad! I was crying so hard I didn't say a word to the bus driver! This year, my baby went! I did okay - well I actually cried pretty hard that first day for all my kids - we had a great summer! I'm over it now- I enjoy some free time. My daughter loves kindergarten! Congrats on beating the urges - that's a big step too! |
