Okay, so I realize I've kind of sucked in the points area... but I've sure felt great about how my body has been looking, how my clothes are fitting (or not fitting anymore! sheesh), how much stronger I've been (it was incredible how moving my things this year was so much easier than a year ago). And while my final weight showed as 165 (= 2 pounds lost this month in total), I think I'm just going to accept that. A 2-pound gain from last week does not mean my skinny jeans don't still make me look totally hot (I mean, um, healthy! yeah).
Since beginning the July challenge, I have lost a total of about 7 pounds, and I have gained all of this lovely muscle while losing fat. My diabetes fundraising walking/stairclimbing event in October is still a great goal for me to work towards - I have about $400 left to raise and a lot more cardio to do in 7 weeks!!
I have so enjoyed this team, so I am proposing we start a new thread for us, Team Less Cheeky, if anyone wants to continue chatting and motivating each other!

Hi Ladies!
KJ, great idea! I'd love to keep on checking in with you guys on a thread for the team - and of course, for anyone else that would like to join in! I've really loved getting to know you all and hearing about both your SBD and non-SBD lives. It has really kept me motivated!
My visit at home this weekend was crazy - I have to be up at 4:30AM tomorrow, in order to get to my 7AM flight...ugh...then a four hour bus ride ... double UGH! Things will be better by Wednesday I think...
Unfortunately, my points are not going to be great - here it is though, in all of its un-glory!
Monday: 65 mins cross training - count as 1 strength and 1 cardio
Saturday: 60 mins treadmill (40 mins at 4.0mph and 2.0-3.0% incline), 25 mins weights, 15 minutes stretch
Sunday: Mountain biking - first time ever! So much fun. About 40 mins (we were out for 2 hours, but realistically, I spent a lot of time just trying to figure it out, so I'm not going to count it as more than 1 cardio)
REQUIREMENTS:
Cardio: 4 workouts @ 5 points each = 20 points
Strength:2 workouts @ 5 points each = 10 points
Water: 7/7 days @ 2 points each = 14 points
Goals: Met 1/3 goals @ 5 points each = 5points
TOTAL REQUIREMENT POINTS: 49 POINTS
BONUSES:
Additional cardio: 0 @ 3 points each = points
Additional strength: 0 @ 4 points each = 0 points
Trying a different exercise: 1 @ 2 points each = 2 points
Workouts over 90 minutes: 1 @ 5 points each = 5 points
15-minute+ stretch: 1 @ 2 points each = 2 points
TOTAL BONUS POINTS: 9 POINTS
TOTAL POINTS: 58 points
Weight loss - Well, my scale at my parents' house says 198! But, since it's not the scale I've been using all along, I'll stick with 200, which was the last weight I recorded on my usual scale. So, a 5 pound loss - which I'm perfectly happy with!
You guys have all been so awesome. I really hope that we keep in touch - and I promise I will be better this week! It's just been crazy tying things up for the summer.
Hope you're all well, and more importantly, that you've all busted some cheek! |

Hi guys, here are my points
REQUIREMENTS:
Cardio: 4 workouts @ 5 points each = 20 points
Strength: 2 workouts @ 5 points each = 10 points
Water: 5/7 days @ 2 points each = 10 points
Goals: 3/3 goals @ 5 points each = 15 points
TOTAL REQUIREMENT POINTS: 55 points
BONUSES:
Additional cardio: 4 @ 3 points each = 12 points
Additional strength: 2 @ 4 points each = 8 points
15 minute stretch: 2 @ 2 points each = 4 points
TOTAL BONUS POINTS: 24 points
TOTAL POINTS: 79 points
I really liked this challenge because of the emphasis on
strength training. This week I did 3 sets of 20 pounds
for my back, and moved up the poundage on my other
upper body exer: 12 for biceps and 10 for triceps.
I love strength training. Even though I did excellent
on my eating (this week) I got on the scale very
confident I had broken the most stubborn weight
barrier I have ever had: 155. I did not. The results
are not on the scale yet, but are with clothes fitting,
etc.
I am going to check out the Sept. warrior challenge and
hope to see you guys there and yes, checking in on our
thread sounds great to me. This has been a good,
kick cheek team - bet we won or came very close. |

Hi, Team Less Cheeky. I am so glad that someone has proposed continuing a general TLC thread. This was the most supportive and motivating team. Thank you all for sharing and supporting.
I'm sorry I fell of the face of the forum in the past few days. I was SICK! In fact, for a few days I was losing lots of weight, but unfortunately it was just dehydration from the sickies - yuck. But, I am glad to say that before the sick kicked in I had lost 5 pounds with the help of my team. Thank you all. I am using the pre-sick weight, because I think after feeling normal today it should be equalizing out.

Hello,
I am here hanging my head in shame....so sorry I have been absent the last two weeks. Things got very hectic as we got devastating news that my 14 yr old niece has Burkitts Lymphoma. I completely forgot about the challenge and many other things. Sorry again and I hope you all will forgive me!!!
Thanks.

| Kathi, I am so sorry to hear about your niece. Don't hang your head in shame! You have had a lot going on it sounds like. I will keep your family in my prayers. Smurl, thanks for the sickie-sympathy. I am back to normal. I had a great, energetic bike commute today, so I am bouncing back very fast! |

Way to go Rose on bouncing back. Feels good, doesn't it?
I am feeling t-i-r-e-d. I think it is from lack of sleep and stuff, but it could be TOM. I guess we will see.... |

Kathi - I am so sorry to hear about your niece. That must be so difficult - of course the challenge was the last thing from your mind! Don't apologize.
How are things going for the rest of you? I've been ok this week, but moving in and trying to settle into life back at school has been hard on the workout/eating schedule. No horrible eating though, pretty reasonable, and I'm holding steady around 198-200 (checked yesterday). I'm going to finish my coffee and do a workout at home with my stepper and weights - it's all I have time for today - and then off to class. I honestly have to say that I can't WAIT for school to be over. It's driving me insane being here already...and it's only day 3... Well, I'm trying to have a better attitude about it, so enough complaining!
Do you guys want to start a new thread, or just keep using this one? |

kathi - sooo sorry about your niece. We all understand why you were absent. I'm sure you're sick with worry. I hope all will be well, now they know what's wrong. Best of luck to you and her family.
Rose - sorry you were sick - maybe from working so many hours????
We could keep this thread going or just start a new one called TLC or August TLC. Maybe with a thread other people will pop in and see what a great group we are! We really did give each other the support we needed and it shows with our progress! :D
Have to check in with my journal, called it P Princess's journal, should have called it: The Princess Diary!
Have a great day!!! |
