Me too in the busy mode - super busy mode.
The kind that tests commitment to exercise
(when it becomes pure determination to find
just 30 mins.) and can catch us slipping up
on diet.
I also have a guest this weekend. But had
already cleaned the house. Tee hee I have
some beans and will cook some brussels
sprouts - that and soy patties will be the
food around here til hubby cranks up the
grill.
Hope all have a great weekend, I will check
in on my journal and here when I get a chance. |

I need your help with something....
I have been a monthly member of Curves since the middle of March. It became boring by the beginning of April. While my weight loss did accelerate after I joined, I really think that had a lot more to do with the fact that I walked there (20 min) and back and everywhere else. I still walk a lot. I have gone for a month without working out there while keeping active with other activities (volleyball, swimming, walking, walking, walking, tennis, etc.). I am absolutely bored with it and dread going because of that. In fact, I haven't gone in nearly two weeks, and I am in and out of town for a week to ten days at a time, so I don't go then.
I haven't quit yet for a number of reasons:
1. I love the women who work there and who workout there. They are great support and fun to talk to. I am kind of lonely here, so it is nice to have women to talk to.
2. I am afraid if I am no longer a member that my weight will come back.
3. There are no other gyms within walking distance of my house. (I don't have a car.) And I am afraid if I have to take a bus to the gym that I will not go nearly as often because riding the bus sucks.
4. Winter is coming, and it will be harder to do outdoor exercise. I will still have to walk to the store and to the bus stop, but on a cold December morning the last thing I will want to do is suit up and go out for a walk.
What do all of you think? Would it be a mistake to drop out?
At this point, I am thinking that my solutions to the exercise dilemma might be to buy a few more exercise videos and buy my elliptical sooner than I had planned. HELP! |

Smurl - I went on in my journal this morning about how I was dreading going to Curves again! I have been toying with the idea of quiting for some time, but like you - I really like most of the ladies there. Although I have noticed that a lot of people have moved on. I'm not sure if I just signed on for another year. One employee told me no and one told me yes.
I'm afraid if I quit I won't be disciplined enough to work out at home. I did work out to a DVD this morning and it was quick and I felt it! I would love to take a pilates class, but they're always at night and I would probably find too many excuses not to go.
What ever you decide, we'll all be here to coax you on and NAG you to exercise! |

Thanks so much for understand pp! I really appreciate that. Curves has become so dreadful for me. I do enjoy working out to my DVDs but not as much as going to the gym and being around other women.
I checked out this gym near my house, and it was wonderful, but I can't get there. It is too dangerous to walk. :(
Whatever you decide, I am here for you. Thanks for understanding. |

This has been the most hectic last 5 days since I have started SBD 3 years ago. I did not seem to have enough time both Monday and Tuesday just to take care of matters. Wednesday, my grand-daughter made her arrival. The tension of waiting drove me and my DW to go to a nearby Chinese restaurant, real Chinese run. I had fragrant beef and blew being Beachy for the day. It really relieved a lot of the tension. Thursday, BodyFlow was needed but was a bore – I may switch to regular weight room work in the future. Work was super hectic. But I left work early and got to hold my new grand-daughter for a hold hour. After that I went to a great BodyCombat which included showing off baby pictures. After getting home, I creamed my access to my webpage so bad that I had to get Charter to reset my access. As of Friday, I still cannot get into edit my webpage so I upload baby pictures. Friday at work, I play IT fireman, solving 3 problems and detecting another problem. It was a rewarding but super busy day at work. It is now Friday night and I am ready for Saturday, I hope.
Highlights:
1) Grand-daughter born on Wednesday
2) Got to hold my grand-daughter for a whole hour on Thursday. I would not give that up for anything. During the time I was holding hen, when I stopped gently rubbing her leg for a few moments, she open her eyes and screwed up her mouth. So I started rubbing her leg again and she slid back to sleep.
3) Work was in general one of the most successful in months (of lesser importance than 1 and 2).
4) Got my planned exercise in but how I am not sure! |

Congrats on the new grandbaby OGB! That is so exciting. I know my mom is planning her trip out from Newport Beach to see me (well who am I kidding, she's coming to see the baby!) in January after he's born.
That said, I hope things start to settle down for you. Did I miss the "Stage 2 Special Points" somewhere? |

| Oh I've got quite the collection of Broncos attire (though not purchased by grandparents) just waiting for this little one's arrival. You can bet that if he's born on a Sunday, he'll be dressed in orange and blue like the rest of the family![/img] |
