Hi all, just skimming down reading all the info,
sounds like you are getting some good feedback
about your foot PP - hope it gets better - have you
thought of modifying your workout on tile floors
where you do only the low impact moves on that
foot?
Mauijoy Happy Birthday! yes someone in their
forties can look great definitely when you do
the healthy SB eating and exercise. And yes
to enjoying your ice cream and chocolate in
moderation. That sets a good example. I
refuse to live without dessert (in moderation).
I am not keeping up with my journal although
doing good on this challenge. I have eliminated
alcohol. No wine with dinner and no mixed drinks
this weekend (Ouch!).
Is everybody writing in theirs daily?
This week has just gotten so busy.
Happy challenge exercising and SB eating! |

Happy Birthday Mauijoy!
I finally added a link to my journal into the signature. Now I just have to make sure that I journal every day and stay beachy.
Here is my favorite recipe. It is from the SBD book and is a really simple recipe. I like to change the ingredients and add things like a little bit of crispy turkey bacon and different types of cheese. My favorite combo is spinach, part-skim mozz cheese and turkey bacon crumbles. The reason I love the recipe so much is because you can cook them ahead of time and they only take a minute to warm up in the microwave. I am always short on time in the mornings! It is also a great way to get a serving of vegetables at breakfast time.
Vegetable Quiche Cups to Go
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
3/4 cup liquid egg substitute
3/4 cup shredded reduced-fat cheese
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup diced onion
3 drops hot-pepper sauce (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Microwave the spinach for 2 1/2 minutes on high. Drain the excess liquid.
Line a 12-cup muffin pan with foil baking cups. Spray the cups with cooking spray. Combine the egg substitute, cheese, peppers, onions, and spinach in a bowl. Mix well. Divide evenly among the muffin cups. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. |

Thanks for the Birthday wishes!
I am on my way to the gym. I have been putting it off today but know I must go and will feel better for it. I really feel for you folks having physical pain while exercising - mine is just in my head. I have no good excuse so I better go do it. I put some new songs on my IPOD. I choose ones that other people recommeded from a SB blog about peoples favorite songs. Hopefully, I will like some. Music really helps me at the gym I go to. They don't play any music and most people are "plugged in" so unless you go with a friend there isn't a whole lot of socializing. Off I go reading the blog does help motivate :D |

I know how hard it can be to get motivated to go to the gym. I haven't gone once this week, but I have been walking, walking, walking. Here I am getting ready to rant about Curves, but sheesh, the thought of going there puts me to sleep.
I am staying home this weekend. The first in five weeks. So I plan to do some cooking. Maybe make some of those quiche cups or some of that pizza with zucchini crust that folks have been talking about in the food forum. Sounds so yummy. |

That's why I don't go to the gym anymore. I know that for some people it's great, but it seems that as soon as I slack for one week, I lose all motivation to go there.
It's much easier for me to work out at home. Luckily for me, I also very well equipped, so I can do pretty much everything I would do in the gym right here ! |

A tip on how to avoid a nervous breakdown. Make sure the fans on your PC are not clogged with dust and dog hair. My PC shut down Friday night with the 'blue screen of death' because it over heated!
Oh well, I think I got it back to normal so maybe I can handle my duties today. More later... |

| Hi guys, I've decided that since I no longer have the internet at home it is too hard to check into this board everyday! So I am going to bow out as an official challenge participant but I will check the board and try to stay with it as much as possible...just can't get on everyday to update etc. :( I am actually really bummed about this, but it just doesn't make sense for me to be involved in a challenge when I can't really participate in the online board! Hopefully I'll see you all in future challenges once I get my tech issues straightened out. :? |

Both yesterday and today I have been low energy with stomach upset. I think riding multiple hard core rollercoasters on Sat. may have rearranged my insides. I did lose one pound over the last week though. I really wanted to start this weeks challenge with by going to the gym but I am going to muster up a walk in a few minutes and that will probably be it for me today.
I read some of your journal smurlene your an amazing woman destined to continue to be successful. Gotta run or rather walk  |

| maui--Oh dear, I can imagine that rollercoaster riding will make the old insides churn, but I bet you had a great time! Thanks for reading my journal. It helps to know that people care. I often get messages from women who tell me that something I said in there helped them. Makes me keep writing. |

Hi Everyone,
Unfortunately, I too am going to have to drop out of the challenge. I am still working full-time until the end of September, and taking a full time course load in law school, and it has been tough to manage. I'm also dealing with an infestation at my place (wasps). For this month, I'm going to focus on getting lots of exercise (5 times per week), but cooking is going to be a challenge, as is posting regularly enough to keep track of points, etc.
Hopefully there is an October challenge that I can join! For all former Team Less Cheeky members - see you in the other thread (and anyone else that's interested, please join us there as well!).
Good luck!

| Sorry to hear that, mo. I hope to see you in the other thread. School is so time consuming!!! Let alone working, too. Take good care of yourself. By the time I finished my PhD, I was suffering from adrenal exhaustion and weighed more than I ever have in my life. I was a mess. It sounds like you are better in control of that than I ever was. |

I just went back to the "Tally" thread and found my bio and hit the "Edit" button, recorded my points and "Submit".
Nims & Cheeks - sorry to hear you're dropping out of challenge. It is a bit of work. See you on the TLC thread or October challenge!
maui I use to love rollercoasters. Still do, but some of them slap you around so much! Ever since I took my son to six flags many years ago and we went on one right away, got off with bad headache that wouldn't go away! That ride bounced my head from side to side against the pads, I felt like a booble-head! Rattled the inside of my head! Hope you feel better!
GreyBob - yep, dust & animal fur - PC killers! Keep some canned air and do those maintenance sprays! "Blue screen of death", those are scarey!
Will be missing my workouts on this Wednesday & next Monday due to appointments. I am bummed - I will have to force myself to workout at home or hopefully the weather will be nice and I can get someone to golf with me in the afternoons.
That reminds me, how are the mosquitos in your areas? They are horrible here, was nice without them all summer, then we got rain. I can't be outside without bathing in Deet, if I miss a spot they find it! That means no outside exercise! |

Hi all, I read that some dropped out. I at first concerned about
posting daily of what I ate. I realized that this is just not possible
with as busy as I can get.
When I take time to post it takes away from my exercise time.
Then I read other journals of participants and realized they were
not posting every bite they ate either.
I am more relaxed about attempting daily postings.
Now I just check in to my journal and record any relevant
things about eating and exercise.
I think this is a great challenge. It has really made me fine tune
some of my SB habits and realize how far I have come in that
area.
Also, getting in the full 30 minute workout was too much this
weekend - I had to break it up into two 15 minute chuncks for
one strength point. I have only done this once, but I am keeping
that as an option for another hectic time.
Wow, there is already an Oct. challenge in the works? |
