Rosetrail

Hello, September Challenge warriors! I apologize for being MIA for the first two weeks of the challenge. I had already planned to be in Texas for a quick trip, but I ended up going earlier and spending over a week there. My mother is having some health problems. She seems to be doing okay, and I am feeling much less stressed about the situation. I was without internet connection for the time I was at my mother's house. I started to keep a written log of eating and the couple of work-outs I squeezed in, but I couldn't keep up with it around the hospital visits, doctor instructions and caring for my mom's home.

So, I know I will miss making the monthly point total of the challenge, but if it's okay with everyone I would like to try to just participate in the last two weeks left of the challenge. I know that you guys have been working hard during the first two stages, so I hope you don't mind me jumping in and taking only half of the challenge. OldGreyBob, I really appreciate the work you've done creating and moderating this challenge, and I'm sorry that personal circumstances have prevented me from being a full participant. I will do my best in these next two stages!

Thanks and apologies to all - Rose

Rose - it doesn't bother me if you jump in. These challenges are meant for us to challenge ourselves. Guess it's really up to OGB.

Glad you're back!

I don't mind, I have rather absent myself. Buying Packer gear for tiny tots etc. :D

OGB - I love that you are turning the grand daughter into a Packers fan as quickly as you can! That is great. My husband and I just adopted a cat, which he named George Steinbrenner. Little Georgie eats out of Yankees bowls on a Yankees placemat, and has a Yankees bucket for his toys, brushes, etc. Sometimes it's fun to be a little nuts about your team. At least your grand daughter can really grow up and become grandpa's little fan! I don't think cats can ever really get into baseball no matter how much we try! :D

Rose--I love it!! What a great idea. Little Georgie. I absolutely LOVE cats. Your story warmed my heart this morning. I needed that with the day I have ahead of me. :D

Thanks, Smurlene! I hope you got through your tough day.

Have a great weekend September warriors and let's keep challenging ourselves!

Oh dear, what a day! What a week! What a life! But things should return to normal, whatever the heck that is, soon. I just need a span of time that has no ups or downs, just straight and level.

Hope you are all doing well in the Challenge. I have been eating Beachy all week long, though I think I might fall right off this afternoon. I am going out to lunch with freinds. I will do my best to make Beachy choices.

Now, if only my internet connection would stay connected so I can send out more than one email every five minutes!

Whew I have been very busy this week and learning the challenge
of keeping up with exercise when hectic and people over.

We also did a huge garage sale yesterday too.

Been reading about all the babies (kitty one included too)
and how busy everyone got.

It is easiest to not go off diet and try to fit in exercise where
feasible. Getting off to a walking trail or getting up before
everyone to get in some wt. workouts. In fact, it is
6:20 here and I am going to quietly sneak and do upper
body workout - just hope I don't drop some wts and wake
everyone up.

Hope all are having an SB, exercising, water drinking weekend!

The week has come to an end and I am thankful. Following my physician’s suggestion, last Sunday, I increased my blood pressure medication to maybe control my erratic blood pressure. I dragged butt royally! My blood glucose crashed to 60. I barely made it through Tuesday’s BodyStep! I went back to my regular dosage; my energy came back and my blood glucose came back to normal on Thursday. (Some side effect to blood pressure medication – ugh!) I have spent playing catch up since then. Counting in my work, home, gym activities; I have on the go since then. I even missed the Badger and Packer Football games!

But on the good side I got in 5 hours of aerobic exercise and 4 hours of strength exercise in this week. And I finally have time at home to get on the Internet for my use.

OGB, glad you are feeling like your dosage is getting settled out. It sounds like you were struggling for a few days there. Last week wrapped up well for me after a rough start.

Today was a bummer morning. I let hormones get the best of me and responded with some totally craptacular eating! But, I am trying to remember that I can salvage the rest of the day. I had a super healthy lunch and have a healthy-eating day planned for the remainder of a very busy day.

The special points will be a challenge for me this week. Thanks for the kick to reach out to others, OGB. We'll see what we can do!

Hi, it is your lost leader. As far as the challenge go, I will remain the leader but I am dropping out of the challenge personally. I am just too busy to keep up. I will be checking your tallies and spot checking your entries. My DW and I will be leaving from the Madison, Wisconsin, area for the Detroit area tomorrow morning, (after 5:30 AM BodyPump and 7:30 AM dog boarding) for my 15 year old grand-daughter’s spinal surgery got moved up. We want to be there for her. The Surgeons decided Monday morning that her surgery, planned months ago, needed to done this week in order to have the right people there. It is an 8 hour drive so we should be there when she come out of surgery. I plan to leave the car with my DW and fly back Thursday while my DW stays there until Saturday or Sunday.
This is the busiest and craziest September that I can remember!

I got some flu going around in North Texas. Two private
schools actually closed down this week.

It is interesting trying to stay sb - I am used to eating all
I want of ice cream, noodle soup and cocoa. Not any more.

Only on one day did I give in to a pint of bluebell.

Yesterday I actually did a walk and some light workout
with wts.

I am still in the challenge but this week will have some
lower points.

OGB hope all goes well with your grand daughter - you
sound like a great and devoted grand daddy!

Hope all are having a great SB exercising week.

Not doing well with the challenge this week. Too many family issues and not eating beachy. Don't think I'll make warrior status this week!
