The first thing I suggest you do is to get the book and read it and read it again if necessary. You can get one pretty cheap through Amazon.com, I think. If you don't have the money to buy one, check out a library and see if they have one.

Second - read ALL the stickies here on this board. Then read them again! I find the stickies here just as helpful if not MORE helpful than the book!

Well I think filipino food is a lot more healthier than our American processed food. First you need to find out what the wraps for lumpia's and such are made out of. Just stay away from white flour based products. Why don't you post some filipino food that you usually eat and we can find out from there.

I saw tons of filipina dish recipes and I think if you just stay away from the fried foods you will be fine. The noodles you eat you would have to read on the package what they are made out of and from there we can probably help you out.

SALAD!

My husband is Filipino. He is down 25 lbs on this new way of eating! The first thing to go has to be rice though. You can phase basmati (not jasmine) rice after 2 weeks. Until then, there are tons of veggie and meat dishes you can eat. Take the skin off chicken, eggs are good, fish is terrific. Instead of eating the rice, we just eat double veggies.

Just read the stickies and determine what you CAN eat...don't focus on what you can't eat. There are some japanese soy noodles that we are going to try this week. You can also substitue beans for filler in recipes. If you tell me some of your recipes, I'd be glad to try to help you make them SB friendly.
