| This is a question for those who have been on SB for a while. I tend to get sick a lot - nothing major, just colds, coughs, flus, stuff like that. So my question is, do you find that you are sick less after being on the beach? I would love that to happen for me! |

| I don't think I get sick nearly as often as I used to. I haven't had a cold in over a year (never got sick last winter, which was a first!). I used to get at least 2-3 colds a year. I'm also prone to cold sores/fever blisters on my lips (ick!), and I rarely have an outbreak anymore, and sinus infections are few and far between. Just another plus to south beach! |

| I absolutely found this to be true. I think I went for about 2 years without even having a cold. And on the rare occasion I have come down with something, I seem to tend to recover more quickly as well. Pretty much got rid of regular heartburn as well. And of course the blood profile results are much improved too. The old adage about being what you eat is true. Eat healthy things that fuel your bodily systems appropriately and you will be healthier and feel better. Feed your body crap, and you will feel like crap. |

Colds are rare and generally milder.
Rarely a headache - and definitely no migraines in 2+ years.
No heartburn.
No BP meds (which helped BP & migraines).
Cholesterol has lowered.
Regular periods.
I can climb stairs without getting out of breath.
I even run & bike now.
I have energy.
I sleep better.
I no longer snore.
Yep - I would say I am healthier. |

I haven't been sick in a while... and I just got a sinus infection. In the past, I've needed antibiotics to get rid of it... and it would be with me for a long time. This time, I was over it in about a week. No anti's.
I don't seem to get sick as often and when I do get sick... it doesn't last long at all. :D |

| I agree. Sick less often, faster recovery. Headaches are rare. Never have that gross stomach pain that often came from overstuffing myself, either! |

| Wow, that's great news! If I ever need more motivation to keep going with this way of eating, this is it. I hate being sick every month or so! |

| Hmmm, if you get sick every month, you might wanna try taking Echinacea with golden seal. It's a natural suppliment that aids in boosting the immune system. |

Agreed. I wouldn't be able to stand getting sick that often! I take Echinacea every time someone close to me is sick. 8) Plus I take vitamin C regularly.
I have strep throat right now - and I started feeling it Sunday night - I was so mad b/c I haven't been sick in SO long (I guess I thought I'd never get sick again  ) but I was feeling really bad so I went to the dr. yesterday and he put me on something (I normally don't like to go on meds but it was bad) and I feel SO much better already. |
