In one of Kimboroni's faqs, it suggests that you concentrate on the percentage of weight or inches, etc. that you've lost (based on the total you want to lose), rather than on the number itself.
So, if you want to lose 100 lbs, and you've lost 25, then you are 25% or 1/4 of the way to your goal. This strategy seems particularly helpful for those who don't want to lose much. For instance, if you only want to lose 10 lbs, and you've lost 2, then you are 20% or 1/5 the way to your goal. I think that recognizing that you're 20% the way to your goal is somewhat more encouraging than having lost 2 lbs. And, this strategy can be used for many different measurements: Exercise, veggie intake, cm or inches lost, etc.
So--this morning I am down 7 lbs, and that is just over 25% of what I want to lose. I am on the 3rd ten percent, 1/4 the way to my goal, etc. Putting my weight loss in these terms makes me rather more satisfied with my progress than thinking of the actual number of lbs I have lost (or even worse, the number of lbs I still have to lose!).

| I want to get that first 10% but I"m not even sure what my long term goal is! my doc wants me to work to 170 and I'm at 197.5 [this morning] from 200 and a few ounces [say......32-40 hehehe] but I'd like to see how I feel at 170 and then think about 150...but I need it to be slow cause I did that drastic drop last year when I was sick from 180 to 155 in 3 weeks...NOT a good thing at all! |

When I started, I had 107 lbs to loose.
I've lost 48.5. So, I'm almost 50% there!! YAY!!!! |

| Since I have very close to 100 pounds to lose all together (103 to be exact), it makes this math very easy! As of my weigh-in last Saturday, I've lost 25% of my goal.... Not bad for less than 3 months on SB! :D |

WOW! Those are some inspiring stories!
I'm hoping to surpass 10% at my Tuesday weigh in!! I'm only 3 weeks in and LOVE thinking about it like this.
I think it is probably easier for everyone to think in these terms. When you have 150 lbs to lose like I do (did!) 10% seems like BIG movement....while 135 lbs to lose still sounds daunting. |

Yesterday i had just started phase 2 and its hard but its much betta than phase 1 :) . All together since day one on phase 1, i have lost 11 inches off my body, it is so nice to see the inches comming off. But I just dont see myself thinner :cry: ....yet. hopefully it comes with time and the more inches the better. I am 1 jean size down, which is absolutely awsome. PhASE 2 HERE I COME IN FULL FORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D .
PS. i am 12% of my goal weight, my, that sounds so nice!!! thnx |
