Hi Teammates!

I am excited about this challenge! I haven't done one since the Extreme Challenge months ago so I am ready to get started! I am trying to get re-motivated to lose my last 15-20 lbs as I have been the same for the last three months...but then I haven't been trying very hard either!

Looking forward to "meeting" all of you!

Off now to drink water and workout!! (I am also re-starting phase 1 today!) :D

Hi teammates!

This is my third challenge in a row (with only a week off in which
I did not slack off as I wanted to stay in 'challenge shape').

Completing this challenge will have given me a whole summer
of a work out challenge.

I am glad this challenge starter has put in strecthing to recieve
some points - what a great idea and now makes the most
perfect challenge for fitness.

Are we posting our goals here on this thread? I will post mine...

1. Look in the mirror at body daily. (This has had the most dramatic
effect on my motivation - I did 4 strength workouts last week because
of this goal).
2. Pull in stomach 100 times a day for 5/7 days.
3. 100 wide v's (an inner thigh exer) for 5/7 days.

Those will keep me busy!

hey y'all,

so glad all of you are on my team this month - everyone ready to kick some butt (their own and others')?? :)

val - sorry about the mixup! also, have you gotten results from all that stomach-suckin?

yes, please post goals here..and there will be a new thread started for each week of the challenge.

well i am coming off of a very active weekend (and a 4.5-5 pound loss last month, woo)... 9+ uphill/downhill/flat miles walked on saturday, then on sunday 35-40m cardio plus 1hr, 15m yoga class. i am pretty new to yoga, so a lot of it was intense. today may end up being a rest day for me, but i will really try to do some light cardio later on.

to let you know, i am currently training for a walking/stair-climbing event for the american diabetes assocation. it's happening in philadelphia on 10/20/07, and i am psyched. you can check out my personal fund-raising page here: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR?px=3717117&pg=personal&fr_id=4590&et=F2B2t9kLcxTsZtMFiUISDQ..&s_tafId=112053

my starting weight: 167 lbs

my goals for week 1:

1. Attend at least 2 classes at the gym.
2. Attempt to eat as beachy as possible this weekend while I have friends visiting.
3. Attempt to not eat as many nuts as usual!

Yay, I am so happy to be a part of this month's challenge...and I really need it too! I did the June challenge and it was great, then decided to take it easy for a month (went on vacation etc). And now I am in a major stall and slide as far as eating habits ... EEEK! I am a little worried cause this is how it always happens in the past: I lose so weight then start having a little treat here and there and don't really gain weight from it, so slowly start increasing the treats and decreasing the exercise! Gotta stay on track this time! SO here are my goals this week:

1) Phase 1 for the work week.
2) Get out for a 15 minute walk each night in addition to cardio.
3) Try a new recipe.

Hi again. Got my workout in and ate my phase 1 breakfast and am back to post my goals for the week.

1. plan out all meals for the week
2. try new recipe
3. stay on phase 1 for my birthday on Sunday....no cake!!!

I love to read goals everyone has and to also get some ideas.

Kjaceyma thanks for getting me on a team so quickly! I thought
this might take a day to set right - I barely mailed my pm to you
and you had taken care of the whole thing.
Good going on training for walking and stair climbing (your
quads must be getting strong) for a good cause while racking
up points on a challenge.

Yes, my stomach does not know what has hit it. I usually do
pull ins (can be done anywhere) with some sit ups and lots of veggies
that make the digestive tract work and get a triple threat to the tummy.

Hope everyone has a water drinking, goal achieving, SB eating,
exercising day!

Hello Team! Just got in from work, where I can't access this forum, so I won't be posting until the evenings. Need to run some errands - will be back later tonight to read over the posts in more detail.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week!

Ok, back! Just read through everyone's posts, and I'm glad to see that we have a real mix of people here - it keeps things interesting, and it's always encouraging to see how different types of people deal with challenges to their fitness/eating routines.

valkm and kajaycema - It sounds like you're both going really strong, and reading about how well you've both been doing is really motivational.

Valkm - that is some assualt you're inflicting on your tummy - I'm impressed! I haven't thought about doing pull-ins all day, but I think I'm going to make that a goal of mine now - thanks for the idea.

And Kajaycema, having an event to train for must keep things interesting - and I must say, you deserve that rest day! Keep it up!

Nims99 and kathi96 - I'm in the same boat as you both! I've gotten off track in the last couple of weeks due to working a couple of jobs and having to meet some tight deadlines. My eating hasn't been too terrible (although I've had dessert 3 times in the last two weeks...always shared, but still... ), but I really fell off the exercise wagon. I'm determined to get back on track before classes start in the fall, and this is the perfect way for me! We can push eachother :D

My goals for the week:
1. Walk at 4.0mph for at least 20 mins straight as part of at least one of my cardio workouts this week.
2. No more than one coffee per day.
3. Clean eating 6/7 days - 2 grains, 2 fruits, veggies at every meal!

I'm weighing myself tomorrow (don't have a scale at home, so have to weigh in at the gym), but I think I'm still at the 205 mark - I don't think I lost anymore weight in the last two weeks, but I don't think I gained either, thank goodness!

Gotta get down to research for the night, but I'll probably check back in later. Hope you're all having a good night!

thanks cheeky. it's been great so far to be losing weight and getting fitter, smaller, leaner, lighter, stronger.. in addition to getting closer to being so ready for the challenge of this event - 1000 stairs and 10 miles in one day. it will be a lot cooler then, in october (lord willing), so it should be a really nice time all around!

congrats to you, too, with your studies and getting back on the wagon with the exercising...what are you studying?

yes, a rest day for me - back to the gym tomorrow. :)

Smurlene

Hi everyone! I have been wanting to join a challenge for months, but always showed up too late. Well, here I am!

Weighed in this morning at 275, which is about three lbs up from last week, but I am smack in the middle of TOM!

My goals for the week:
1. Get to bed by 12:30 am. 6/7
2. Get up in the morning at 9 am. 6/7
3. Eat at least one serving of fish.

Thanks for having me!

Thanks again to Kelly for setting this great challenge up and getting me in past the deadline. I am so happy to be joining all of you this August as we Kick Butt!

My goals for the first week are as follows:
1. Be more active about reading up in the forum - 5-4 mornings a week (I think this will really help me stay accountable and motivated - was too busy to be here much last week, and I slipped on one of my goals. )
2. Try a new recipe
3. No candy at work (Trying this one again after skyrocketing off the wagon on this goal last week.)

Hi Everyone,
Just got back from 1 1/2 weeks vacation, came home a day early. Think I'm up a pound or two. The scale up north was an old one and I don't really trust it, it said I was only up a pound! Will weigh in tomorrow for a better look at the damage!

I need to keep doing these challenges, they keep me on track and motivated! I also think it's a good way to meet more people!

WEEK 1 GOALS

1) Work out rest of the week!
2) No booze
3) Cut back to one serving of fruit & grain daily (this is to get back on track)

good day, everyone..glad to see we are all accounted for here!

i am planning on doing a *vinyasa yoga* class tonight - i hear it's more active - should be intense. and my muscles should have recuperated a little yesterday, so i am psyched. the class will be a challenge, i'm sure, but those workouts make you feel the best i think...like you're really doing something meaningful, ya know, something that's really helping to change your body.

i know it can be tough in the summer, with vacations and all this good summer food - in philadelphia, where i live, there are many temptations: italian ice (anyone ever heard of the rita's water ice chain?), pretzels, cheesesteaks, ice cream, pizza, etc etc. *everywhere* you look. street vendors are on hand at every corner to sell you something fattening and/or sugar-filled! luckily i don't have too much of a problem resisting that sort of stuff, but sometimes ya just want a soft pretzel *so much* because it's so chewy and salty and delicious.. ahem. anyway~

i know i'm going to drink some and eat a little badly this weekend, so i'm really trying to be so, so good and on-track for the next few days. i bought this new SF pomegranate viniagrette dressing the other day - it's not bad!

came home a day *early*, pp??

I overslept this morning and didn't get to go to the gym, and my day is CRAMMED, so I doubt that I will get to tonight, either. So, I am going to get my cardio in by walking to the bus stop that is the farthest away from me, though in this heat (96 by the time I leave for work!), I better drink extra water! :D I did get to bed by 12:30 last night.

I am so impressed by everyone's goals!
