Hi everyone!

Just a short hello and waves to all previous challenge members.

I did a really long road trip this weekend and my goals are not quite solidified.
Also, food is going to be a huge challenge this entire month because the kids are up visiting my parents and that means DH and I are doing some serious date nites out for the next 3 weeks!!
I live in Washington DC and this week begins restaurant week-fixe price 3 course menu (read dessert is included)
The next 4 weekends we are traveling so I am sure hoping that this month will be more about fitness and less about food. I am trying to manage my eating out expectations so goals for me include:

1. Try 2 new core strengthening exercises this week
2. Eat at least 2 SB meals and snacks every day
3. Watch my portions and alcohol over this week.

Starting weight 139.5--I sure hope to lose 3-5 lbs this month

Also we are looking for team name, so a pithy play on names is welcome

Have a great day!

OUCHH!!

I went to aerobics today --I seriously kicked butt in some of the cardio sessions.
Also, this AM I was completely drenched from my early morning power walk. I started drinking water this morning but I am completely dehydrated!!

SL-So good to have you here again :D !!

I also forgot to mention..this challenge is really important for me because I am going to have surgery in mid-Sep and I won't be able to do much in the way of exercise for at least 6 weeks and will probably not be back to normal until Christmas--so more of a reaon to kick butt while I can!

Hey teammates! Just a quick stop to let you know I'm here. I've got to take ds to the dentist in a few, he had a bike accident last night and messed up a tooth poor kid. I'll be back this afternoon with goals and such.

Later,
Lora

Hello all
My goals for the week are:
1 eat breakfast at least 4 times this week
2 try a new recipe(just started phase 2 today)
3 only allow myself one new good carb a day without splurging all week

I hope these are acceptable goals, this is my first time joining a challenge. Good luck to all :D

Hey Team Members! I am new also and thrilled to be a part of this challenge.

Otter70-lucky you to have so many date nights planned! Enjoy! I can totally see how it will be difficult for you. You can do it! Good luck with your upcoming surgery too. GREAT job on the workout!

Hi Luvmycritters! I’m sorry to hear about your son. Hope the appointment went well and his tooth is okay.

Hey SalmonLady and Jenny!

Good Luck to all. Here are my goals:

1. no alcohol this week
2. take the steps instead of the elevator at work
3. try a new recipe (hey, why not?)

Starting weight is 162. I started on last Thursday at 164 and didn’t intend to weigh until this Thursday but I jumped on the scale this morning as part of the challenge. Off to a good start. Woo hoo!

JamieM

Hi, all! I'm a latecomer to this challenge. Thanks to kjaceyma for adding me in!!

I really need this challenge. I've done well losing weight by following the plan, but the past few weeks I was vacationing, then sick, and now I need to get back on track. I really need to get back into an exercise routine!

I didn't weigh today, so I'll weigh in tomorrow.

My goals:
1. No late-night eating (nothing after 8 p.m.)
2. No cheating 6 days a week.
3. Only veggies for snacks!

So what do you all favor for exercise? I like tae-bo and I'm planning on doing some various tae bo routines.

Hi JamieM...welcome!!

I love Turbo Jam best but I am a little burned out on it so I am looking for something new. I really like Billy Blanks also but haven't done many of his videos. Those double time moves will kill ya!

I get bored of the same thing over and over so I'd like to juggle a few videos, and always looking to try something new. Which Tae Bo do you like best? Last I did and really liked was the Tae Bo Fat Blaster. I have a Netflix account so I'm always renting something.

Hi, Floridabee. :D

Well, I am *really* out of the exercise routine!! I used to do Advanced Tae Bo, but lately have only been doing the basic. Dh bought me a bunch of them, though, so I am planning on tackling them during this challenge! I have the AB one, the ultimate one, and a few others. They are "bootcamp" dvd's.

I think "kick your own butt" is a fitting name for this challenge, LOL.

Wow, very cool to have a bunch of new people on the challenge mixed in with some regulars. :) Today was hectic but all is well this evening. Turns out ds didn't break his tooth, he jammed it back into the gum so just the tip was sticking out. The dentist and I decided pulling it was the best option, his permanent teeth are ready to come in soon anyhow. He's such a trooper! Looks like a chipmunk but hasn't complained once all day and hasn't had any pain medicine. I'd be whining like nobody's business!

Here's my goals for this week:
1) Do Yogilates 2 times this week
2) Bike 65 miles
3) Try a new recipe

Should be very doable but challenging. I rode just over 60 miles last week and am sore today but it's a good sore! My starting weight is 170 and I'd love to see 10lbs gone but 5 would make me happy.

Sorry to hear you need surgery Otter. DD has knee surgery next week and we're not looking forward to it. Hope it goes well and you heal quickly!

Hi to everyone!

Jamie, Floridabee, MBiggers and JennyO Welcome!

I think this is going to be a great team and everyone seems so motivated to be here.

Just my thoughts after doing SB for almost 9 months

I definitely went slow adding back grains in Ph 2. In fact most days I keep grains to 1 a day. Seems that is best for me losing/maintaining.

I originally had my goal as 140 but 3 challenges ago I decided to try and get to the 130s which is much harder than I thought. My body is getting stronger but the weight hovers between 139 and 143. At this point I am not trying too hard to cut my calories more and the exercise for the most part is very regular.

Getting into a routine is hard, returning after an absence, I think is even harder but keep at it and it will get easier.

Luvmycritters--glad your little one is ok--ouch!! What a hero!

I went on a power walk this morning and it was oppresively HOT at 5 AM!! Ugh! So glad my gym has an indoor walking track.

Dinner was great last nite--not beachy but very delicious. Portion control was spot on and I went home not over full but satisfied.

Well I gotta run!
