i had a sbd frozen meal recently and it made me feel sick! i think i just hadn't eaten a frozen meal in a long time, and all those chemicals just made me really, uh, backed up.

some of the sbd meals/bars/whatever have corn starch in them i think...just read the ingredients, okay! :)

Do a "search" and this question comes up often.....
However, as the diet was originally written... none of the "South Beach" bars or meals qualify as being very SB friendly.
(not enough food, not enough veggies, non-SB approved ingredients, etc.)

At best, I would use them in a pinch.........

In short: no. Too much sodium, not enough real foods.

I have found that you can now find things like fresh fruits and veggies at things like gas stations in the middle of nowwhere. You might be surprised what you can find.

I guess they might be better than eating a giant cinamon roll or something, but it would be better to pack some good foods like almonds, fruits, celery sticks, and other foods that stay good for awhile than eat those processed foods. I even take a loaf of bread and some natural pb when I am traveling. Saved my butt (in more ways than one) many times.

I would choose real food over that stuff any day!!!! Wouldn't recommend it! Only in a real pinch would I do it but I would plan to bring healthy foods with you or choose carefully when out.

This is bad news - I pack my lunch every day and was counting on having a SB frozen meal 2 days a week. Oh well....

I pack my lunch, too, and I never have those meals. I take all kinds of stuff in my lunch. Sometimes leftovers from the night before. Other times, ww pitas stuffed with meat and veggies. Yum.

I, too, pack my lunch and never bring in those frozen meals. There are tons of things you can easily pack and bring to work. I am such an unexperienced cook, yet I'm always getting complements on how good my lunches look! Most days I do simple salads - just by adding some fruit, nuts, cheese, shrimp, etc. all of a sudden everyone is drooling over what I have. Other times I'll just bring in leftovers from the night before or make myself a wrap.

I had bought two of those SB meals on sale several months ago and they sat in my freezer for quite awhile. I finally had one a few weeks ago (I think it was like an Asian pork with string beans, good for P1,2,3) and I was SO unimpressed. Besides not having enough veggies, it just didn't taste good at all. The other one is just taking up space in my freezer right now - I can cook a meal in 5 minutes that is much better than that.

I will eat them on emergency or if I'm in a hurry. As long as I have some veggies w/them.

Exactly. And I'm not even sure I could really eat it in an emergency - I think I would spend some time finding anything else acceptable before turning to those things!

I keep a couple in the freezer at work - are they great?NO, are they good? no, not horrible tho and in my life sometimes things don't go as planned, or else I"m just not pollyperfectplanner and there are days when I don't have 'the right stuff' in the fridge, need to make a grocery store run or whatever and IMO, it's a heck of a lot better than the fast food choices that line the way from my building to a grocery store!!!

I don't know. I think I would rather have a fast food salad (minus the dressing) or even some Wendy's chili before these frozen dinners. But I know what you mean about not being able to be perfect. Sometimes you just can't plan for things.

and sometimes you can't leave the office and those are the days you need the help the most! i figure frozen dinner vs the inevitable visit to the snack machine...

eww besides the fact tha they are nasty you would be so much happier with something fresh. i bought the breakfast wraps and i bit into it.... i swear it was so nasty i spit it out and threw it away. i lost my appetite after that so i know i won't try the dinners. and the bars are just so so. i wouldn't waste my money. buy a cookbook and do a web search for meal ideas!
