Hi - I've just stared Phase 2, and need to begin an exercise program. I'd like to make it walking, since we have a new treadmill at home.

What's the difference between just regular walking (or walking at an increased pace) and "power walking"?

Is there a "proper form" for walking?

Thanks!

Here is an article from Runner's World on walking...

COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT WALKING

I believe that "power walking" is at the upper end of your walking speed (say anywhere from 4.5 to even 5.5 mph for some people)...... and usually includes exaggerated hand swings.

I am guessing a good walking posture would be the same as good running posture..... envision an invisible string attached to the top of your head.... pulling your whole body up, with head and spine in allignment (no slouching!! :D )

Good luck with the new treader!
