i am sorry that your friend is feeling so down on herself. i have similar issues due to deep stretch marks i developed during pregnancy. sometimes i feel like my stomach looks like freddy krueger. help your friend to remember how much healthier she is for having lost weight, and that stretch marks fade and can be covered by clothing but you can't hide being overweight and the risk you put yourself in when you are overweight.

exactly! well said!

You can buy Palmer's Cocoa Butter at any drug store or grocery store that has a good pharmacy (I'm in Canada, I'm assuming this is the same in the US). I like Palmer's - it absorbs quickly, isn't greasy and is cheap! However, I haven't found it to make a huge difference in my existing stretch marks. I think it's important to keep skin well moisturized to prevent new ones, though.

I don't think it's a male or female thing, I think it's just the type of skin you have, and how much elasticity in it. A former boyfriend of mine went sky diving and got stretch marks on his shoulders from the harness, when his chute deployed.

My best friend has had four babies and has not one stretch mark on her body. I got one on my hip just from growing up. I think I'm going to try the Bio-oil on it. :D
