Has anyone experienced a "pale" stool color in Phase 1??

Doesn't sound harmful according to online research, but we're wondering what in Phase 1 would cause this coloration.

Thanks

This is a new one on me. Perhaps it isn't actually abnormal but just normal for the first time?

Hi Kim,

I looked online and it doesn't sound serious according to the possible causes, probably diet. btw, it's my husband, not me (I'm just constipated!!), and I'm wondering if it's all the enormous amounts of vegies.

Or, I'm thinking, maybe it's the cauliflower; the fake potato is awesome(sans milk or anything, otherwise too watery!).

simismom...... Here is a thread that might help. (Not sure if it addressess the "pale colored" stool dilemma.... :) ) However there is a lot of good info on "poop" ...... (maybe more than you'll ever need to know!)

Thanks for the link, but what it did was confirm that "we're all the same!" I probably could write a book on the subject, but as for my husband, this "pale color" he ddescribed is a mystery.

Two years ago at my last colonoscopy, my GI doc, when he heard how I ate, (always healthy even when heavy), could not believe I had constipation problems. I started every day w/ Uncle Sam's and for a long while it worked beautifully. Then, to thwart the expense, I simply ate either GrapeNuts, or any other surgarless whole grain cereals and added FLAX seed, which I think is the main reason it was helping. I do believe that stress is the factor in some constipation, and perhaps that's my cross to bear.

My GI prescribed a similar med to what's now available OTC, MIRALAX, and it worked, but even that now is not working for me.

I never abuse laxatives, knowing the downfalls, and when not on SB my diet was really healthy, with whole grains, fresh vegies and water. My problem in gaining weight was adding ice cream (my passion) and other carbs, but I never stopped eating healthy. Go figure.

In Sept I go for another colonoscopy (had 2 polyps removed last time and my mom had colon cancer). I will ask my GI about this problem again, but as everyone is different, I think even he as a pro can only guess!

My husband is just the opposite from me!
