caffrey

Here we are in week two! Thanks to dlk, Mecca29 and SushiJin for posting your points already. Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you and reporting to meemoo just how hard we kicked butt!

I reckon we all have the hang of this challenge now so let's push ourselves this week and see if we can all post scores better than last. I'd like to hit somewhere in the 110 range which means I need to really plan ahead - especially as I am away from home again. I'm not going to let it stop me! Gonna take it up a notch.

Let's do ourselves proud this week and really kick it up!

How's everyone doing in this our second week? I am so freakin' chuffed with myself. I wasn't going to exercise at all today but I just couldn't help myself. It was around 100 degrees here all day which meant I wanted to hide in the nice cool basement apartment. Tonight though, I decided to go out for a fast walk. I figured I would walk with the odd 1-2 minute run thrown in for good measure. I set off from the house at a fast walking pace, got to the end of the street and started my first running interval. Next thing I know, I had run for 30 straight minutes!!!!! I have no idea when the last time was that I did that but it felt SO good! I am just so darned happy with myself! I have to say though, that it was still 80 degrees and humid so I got pretty sticky pretty fast. DH and I are setting up to do some upper body strength training with the medicine balls and then I'm going to round it off with ab and glute work. I earned my push it bonus tonight!

Hi Cardio Queens!

It was so hard to get out of bed and work out yesterday....but I made it. This morning was a little easier. I did cardio yeasterday and today. My trainer is not able to train until Thurs. and Sat.

Switched it up a little today....did 10 min. on this cardio machine....don't really know how to describe it....in between an elliptical and a treadmill. Then I did my intervals on the treadmill for 20min. A little sore today but not too bad.

The weather has been so beautiful I was hoping to get out and walk around the inlet but work is busy these days. Maybe on Thurs.

Doing well on the 64oz....always end up doing more. Had an okay weekend food wise. Not great.

Doing well on one of my goals.....I have 3 more eating out events.....keeping it 100% SB.

WTG Caffrey on the exercise.......oh yea....push it points!

Have a good day everyone.

Good to see you Mecca! Where is everyone? Oh, I know: they're out kicking their butts!!!!! LOL!

Well, I have a piece (actually two pieces) of sound advice for you all today. I decided to go out and run again tonight. It felt so good last night that I figured I could repeat it no problem. And indeed I did. In fact I did better! I ran for 37 minutes this time for another push it! WOOHOO! OKay. That's not the advice. Firstly, exercise is not like having a hangover. You know that 'hair of the dog' thing where if you have a little alcohol the hangover feels a little better? Well my legs were a little sore today and I was loving the feeling. I figured another run would probably do them some good and loosen things up. Instead, I can now hardly walk. I just staggered my way into the kitchen looking in dire need of a walker.

Secondly, do not EVER go out running in shorts if you only have a thong to wear underneath them. Why? Because your butt will eat the shorts and slowly reveal more of your rear end than you'd prefer. Certainly this is to the delight of passing motorists and cyclists but fairly mortifying if you don't have the body of Jessica Alba or the desire of Jenna Jameson to bare it............

 Caffrey Note to self, no running in thongs

Sorry I haven't posted anything yet. I have been kicking plenty of butt though.
Monday:weights & 30min on Elliptical - increased my incline and resistance from last week

Tuesday:30 min interval on elliptical. Added in some High intensity intervals Definitely got some Push it points for that one. Man was I sore this morning.

Today: weights and 50min of what I affectionately refer to as a cardio medley. Some biking, walking and a little time on the stairclimber. Haven't been on a stair climber in ages, it's harder than I remember

You HAVE been kickin' it SushiJin! I am so jealous that when I get up in the morning, you have already finished your workouts for the day. Now I know how everyone back in the States must feel when I've knocked out my stuff here in Holland!

I am taking today as a rest day. I am packing up the kids are we're heading out with DH for the day as he has an appointment to go to. Figured we'd tag along too. I don't know what time we'll get back and my legs HURT anyway! Time to rest a little.

How's everyone else doing?

Caffree:

hi I just remembered that I jogged last weekend and forgot to add it as trying something new to get my extra points. Is it too late? just curious.

Hey coastal_mom! Just to be sure they are counted, add it into this week's total instead. That way there is no confusion as I already submitted the points and would hate for them to get lost!

My legs are absolutely KILLING ME today! I've been wincing up and down all the stairs I've taken today! At least I know that I've worked them hard! My back is sore too though and that's not a good thing. Here's hoping it settles down tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great week and feeling fit!

Good Morning Cardio Queens-

Well, I was going to take the day off yesterday but we ended up skipping girls night last night so went down to the inlet and walked it 2x around. I am thinking I did about 3-4 miles. It felt good!

Well my trainer stood me up this morning. I think there may have been some miscommunication. But I did strength training anyways.

Tomorrow is a cardio day and Sat I think is strength training with my trainer. And in there I have to fit another cardio to reach my goal of 5 for the week.

WTG Cardio Queens!!! We rock!!

Well I have been forced to take today off too as my back is really hurting me still. I guess running isn't going to become my cardio method of choice! I am a little concerned as my very regular TOM is a few days late so I have increased the amount I'm eating in the hopes that will fix the issue. I am by no means starving myself anyway! Hopefully, I will be back in the swing of things on Saturday when I will have my lovely low impact elliptical for company again!

The good thing I can take away from this week? The running hit my quads HARD and that is just excellent in my book - YAY! There is always a positive to every rotten situation - you just have to look for it!

Hope everyone else is enjoying this fine Thursday. Just a few more days and we will be halfway through this challenge - WOOT!

Good Monring Cardio Queens! TGIF!!

Well I have reached 2 goals today! Today was my 5th day of cardio and I tried a new exercise this morning.

My gym has 2 state of the art bikes with a screen on them. Basically you choose a course and then you bike......now while you are biking the screens shows everything as if you were in a real race outside.(Hills, curves, trees) You can pass people.....people can pass you.

In the corner there is a map to show you where you are on the course. It was very cool! You could even compete with a partner if they were on the other bike next to you.

I got some push it points and beat my score each time I did the course. I was dripping sweat when I was done....great workout!

I think I racked up a good amount of points this week.

Have a great weekend everyone!
