20g carbs is a lot for a half cup of anything.
Guessing here, but I'd say rarely on P2 and never on P1. |

I agree, but the statement "20g carbs is a lot for a half cup of anything" could be very misleading, especially for newbies who don't understand about good vs. bad carbs yet.
On p1, you can eat beans, many of which have 20 grams of carbohydrates for a ½ cup. On p2, you can eat oldfashioned oatmeal, which is closer to 30 g of carbs for a ½ cup. Those are good carbs, so we know that it's okay to eat them.
There are other foods where eating 20 grams of carbs-worth wouldn't be good for you at all. Those would be the bad carbs that the book tells us about. |

| Take into account that the sugar is artificial. Artificially sweetened is allowed on P1. Blue bunny is made of both Splenda & sorbitol. This should not be overdone in P1, but in limited moderation. |
