This guy is a troll. I work for an internet company that has 10 major websites with over 1000 forums. We get the same type of posts from other
" Reverends" posting lots of similar nonsense. I think they roam the internet just looking for forums to post on. Since we went to registration for forum users, we have not had any visits from any Pro-pot
" Reverends."

I don't know if that post qualifies as "pro-pot." I think even if it was a troll that posted it, it is a legitimate warning. Don't do things that decrease your ability to control yourself. I personally don't toke anymore, but I do remember the munchies. And they are hard to resist when you're high. Best thing to do is to stop smoking pot if you're trying to lose weight. Or, if you're not going to cut out the MJ, at least make sure you have plenty of SB friendly snacks around when you light up. Sugar free jello would be my suggestion!

Jess112 -

Congratulations. You've just posted the most ignorant, naive, and asinine message in the history of the internet. Marijuana smoking trolls roaming the internet all day long looking for forums to post on? Please tell me you're joking. Please tell me that you are not this stupid.

What's scary is that you probably believe what you wrote.

I have to agree w/Laura on this one, unless Jess was just joking which I don't think he was.

People really can't use common sense when it comes to marijuana. I think it's because of the word "illegal" and all the other stuff that we hear from the Government, "this is your brain on drugs", etc.

People have this image of a deranged, wild-eyed homeless man sneaking up to children on a playground trying to sell them heroin. The reality is that tens of millions of people use marijuana recreationally and responsibly - people from every walk of life, people who are very responsible citizens, who otherwise are model citizens, successful employees, etc.

Yet for people like Jess and Geoff, the attitude is "thrown 'em in jail for life, these demons are trying to kill our children". Yet, 30 seconds of research would tell them the truth: marijuana is infintely safer than alcohol, tobacco, prescription drug abuse, food addition/obesity, etc. The thing is, you can say that until you're blue in the face and people like Jess and Geoff still won't get it. They are too brainwashed to see the difference.

The image of the crazy crack addict is all they see.

Sad, really.

Ouch! You guys are tough! lol

I do think that the last people on this planet who should criticize marijuana smokers are other people with major food/eating addications. It's so weird the way we have to be so judgemental about everything.

to that end, I must say that I'll take a troll anyday over the self-appointed troll police anyday. (not that I think the original poster was a troll).

OK. I told myself I wasn't going to post in this thread again. But, I wanted to point out that Geoff wasn't insulting anyone. I also would like to point out that if he was stating any kind of opinion against pot smoking (which I didn't get), he has the right to do that. It's not fair to "dis" Geoff for responding. I think he was just thinking this guy was trolling and trying to ask him not to post here again. Geoff....some of us know you meant well..... :?

I smoke pot on occasion, and the biggest problem I face with it is this... like alchohol, marijuana is a depressant and as such lowers my body's metabolic rate and it takes at least 24 hours afterwards for my body to get back to it's natural state. If I do not eat less than normal during this period I will definately gain a pound or two. So if I tend to drink and smoke pot I always make an effort to curb my food intake a bit.

Whenever I see somebody refer to smoking weed as "doing drugs", it makes me think that person puts it in the same category as cocaine or heroin or something. Smoking weed does not mean somebody has a lack of discipline any more than if they choose to drink wine.

I would like to know why, if marijuana is so bad, is subscribed for medicinal purposes???

You know, Marijuana makes a great ointment that can ease arthritis and rheumatism ... I've never used it that way myself, but I do know people (indigenous Maya of highland Guatemala and Mexico) who use it this way and swear by it --I haven't gotten baked in more than a year, but those munchies were really something!!

Well, here is another person stating that she doesn't believe Geoff meant to insult or harm. Funny how when people feel their little "something that gets them through stuff" (whether it be food or alcohol or pot or coke or whatever) is somehow threatened, they jump to the attack.

Live and let live, people. Some indulge, others don't. Personally, I never could understand the draw and stopped at 21. I simply thought it was nasty, like smoking. But, hey, it's an opinion and I am just as entitled to have one as some one who likes the stuff. It doesn't make either of us bad people.

Get over it already.
