One word of caution

Rev. Bud Green

On two ocassions, I've blown my diet because I smoked marijuana. The munchies were just too much to overcome. However, a word of caution to those who smoke - even though there are no calories, it triggers so much hunger it might not be worth it.

Also, when you give in and decide to eat when you stoned, you never seem to get full, therefore you just want to eat more and more and more. My recommendation would be to wait until the end of the day, after you've eaten your last snack, and then light up with the clear understanding that you will NOT eat again until the next morning.

Good luck.

Thanks, but I doubt many of us who have the discipline to do this diet, and who care about our bodies, are doing drugs.

Geoff,

If we all had the ability to control ourselves, then we wouldn't need South Beach.

I'm geeshing because I'm like...I can't believe this is a topic on here. But, LOL I guess. I think most people who smoke pot know that it increases their appetite. I personally don't do that. Pretty glad I don't have to fight THAT battle. Don't need anything else increasing my appetite.

Geoff,

I think it's just a matter of respecting others' opinions and appreciating the original poster's intent. For those who partake, it was a friendly word of caution. For those who don't.. nothing harmed :D

Although I've never smoked pot, I know I have a food addiction - more specifically a carb addiction. Just because food is a "legal" addiction, it is no less dangerous to our bodies than anything else people overconsume.

At Weight Watchers, alcohol is "allowed" yet they warn you that consuming it will decrease your will power and self control to stay on program.

I think mags7461 hit it right on the head.Who are we to judge other people. Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself, this goes for all of life and what someone else chooses to do with their life is their choice and really none of our business, nor is it our place to dis them.

I hope I don't offend anyone but

-- Marijuana has the same health side effects as cigarette smoking... I don't see you talking down to those smokers. There is little evidence supporting other damages to the human body.

Weed- not addictive. Unless psychologically, in which case it is completely similar to your food addiction, good analogy.

... Anyway, my main message is to learn before you type. Sorry if I ruffled anyones feathers...
