When I did SB in Jan, I became discouraged during a plateau and gave in, I was weighing EVERY day! Now, back on the beach, and after seeing the first week of loss, I have put away the scale. I am going to go by how I feel, and how my clothes fit. I don't want the scale to tell me how I'm doing.
So, just curious how often the rest of you weigh yourself. |

| I weigh myself more then once a day. It doesn't effect how I feel about the diet or myself. I just find it interesting how my weight can change so much over the course of the day. Of course, I am a numbers geek. |

| I weigh myself twice a day, every day and do an average over the course of the month of my weight...since I gain during the week of my cycle and am lighter in the morning than evening. I have lost 10 lbs -- took almost a month to do it, but did it. Just another five to ten to go! |

ONCE A WEEK IS MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR ME. I GET ANXIOUS BY THE END OF THE WEEK TO SEE IF I'VE BEEN GOOD, BUT IF I WEIGH IN MORE THAN THAT AND I SEE A GAIN, EVEN A SLIGHT ONE , I WOULD BE MORE PRONE TO FALL FROM THE BEACH AND OVERINDULGE.
IT HELPS THAT I DON'T OWN A SCALE!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I don't own a scale. The only time I weigh myself is when I'm at the gym, and I generally limit myself to twice a week.
Besides, I'm much more interested in how my clothes fit, how I feel, and my body fat percentage, than I am about my weight. Muscle is more dense than fat, after all, so if I lose a pound of fat, but gain a pound of muscle, I'll weigh the same, but I'll be thinner/smaller. Plus, now that I've made my weight loss goal, my next goal is to add some more muscle, which will likely mean gaining a bit of weight, since muscle is so dense. But that's okay. :) Muscle is also very metabolically active, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, even at rest. :) |

| ONCE a day, I just have to know! I guess it also depends on how much weight you have to lose, if it's a big amount (say over 30 lbs) you do need to see it coming off at a faster rate than if it's a smaller amount. Good poll! |

| Once a month...11 days after the first day of my period. Read in a fitness magazine that that is the best time for a woman to weigh herself. I really dont go by what the scale says since I do weight training, I pretty much go by how my clothes fit. |

| I weigh myself every day abefore I take my shower. I think you get a more acurate reading before you eat or do anything then if you waited until the evening but I also read you have to do it at the same time of day to be 100%, due to weight fluctuations. Anyway, I am obsessed with it because I have a total of 55 pounds to lose so I want it to go away fast! So far only 5 but I am still going strong with the beach. |

| Today is D14 P1 and up to now I have been weighing myself every morning before eating, showering, exercising. So far 12.5 lbs!!!! I still see a steady weight loss anywhere from .5 to 1 lb a day. As I slowly...very slowly...enter P2 I plan to only weigh in twice a week. Once in the middle to be sure I'm still on the right track and once at the end of the week. I guess I'll see if I can stick to that. |

| I do an 'official' weigh in on Sunday nights, but I usually step on the scale every night, just to see what it says. I wish it would move down faster!! |

| I only weigh myself once a month. I also take my measurements arms, chest, waist, hips and legs. Scales don't tell you all the information you want to know. Muscle gain is a big one. Scale weight flucuates during the day. I find doing it once a month helps because I don't get discouraged. Most of the time I do lose weight vs if I weight myself once or more times during the day. :D  |

| I weigh myself every few days. I tried to weigh myself only once a month and then tried once a week. That didn't work. I guess I like to have something to go by. I don't let myself get down by minor fluctuations on the scale. Also when I am feeling like I have gained, it is nice to get on the scale and see that I didn't. I just wish the scale would start moving downwards now! but I am being patient. |

| I quit weighing myself because the inches were dropping but the lbs. were not. I can tell that I am smaller, and the measuring tape agrees. I have not been to the gym yet, but I have been working in the garden and packing up my classroom for summer. That involves days of stretching and bending, so I assume that is the reason...more muscle. |

| I weigh once a week. I have to visit the doctor's office every Wednesday for an injection for rheumatoid arthritis, so I take advantage of getting a "free" weigh-in on an accurate scale. |

I used to weigh daily when I walked through the gym at our office, but that was discouraging.
Day-to-day fluctuations up or down don't give a good indication of trends, and as an analyst, I'm concerned with the downward or upward trend analysis, not the daily anomolies.
Now I make myself wait until Friday morning. Since Friday is casual day, I wear almost exactly the same thing every week - jeans, tennis shoes, T-shirt - so I know I'm comparing like to like.
Throughout the week, I just judge by whether I'm staying with only "approved" foods and whether I'm sticking to my workout routine. My feeling is that if I act in a healthy manner throughout the week, the numbers on the scale will inevitably follow at some point. |
