hi again, i just wanted to share this with you all...
did you know, you are all helping me along in my training for an important event: http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=4590&px=3717117
it is a unique diabetes fund-raiser event, a 10-mile walking course around philadelphia with staircases/steps interspersed along the course. i'm psyched! it's on 10/20/07. so i have a little over 3 more months to train for it, and this july challenge is really helping me stay focused! :)

Hi everyone!
Well I am pretty pleased...I did 3 separate cardio sessions yesterday. I was debating doing the last one (power walk with DH) but we went out after it cooled down.
My scale is frustrating me...on my official weigh day (Mondays) I FINALLY broke into the 130s (139.5) and this morning back up 2.5 lbs! GRRRRR
I know my food had salt in it and the heat and humidity seems to make me retain water...just frustrating. Today I am going to drink more water.
I will probably take a lunch break and head to the gym for a bit of lower body strength training and more walking. I am a huge fan of walking these days. I usually walk 5-7 miles a day. 2.5 in the AM--3 at lunch and 1.5 in the evenings. It has really made a difference in toning my belly. While I still have some jiggle, it is nothing like it was 6 months ago.
Anyway,
Just wanted to say hello and waves to Deb! We keep ending up on the same team!
Have a great day

ok, whah. I am so far no where close to my goal of getting home for a SBD-inspired dinner with my DH at least twice a week. I am currently in my second 12-hour plus day at work. Complain, complain, sigh, complain. Okay, enough pity-party. Back to work, and glad to still have 5 more nights this week to try to meet that goal.
I hope everyone is doing great on the challenges of meeting your goals! |

Boy did I have a computer related scare today. Where I work bought me this awesome laptop in exchange for some photo work I am doing for them. I absolutely love the thing!
Last night I went to boot it up to work on some wedding photos I took for a friend when it would not respond at all. I tried taking out the battery and every thing I could imagine. NOTHING! I was in panic mode at this point. All of her wedding pictures were on here and I didn't have them on disc yet because I hadn't figured that out yet. I was in tears and terrified that they were gone. I have only had this laptop for 10 days.
So I call the computer place today and they try some things over the phone and nothing is working. Now I am really starting to feel sick. He comes to where I work and fixes it thank God. I was so relieved. Evidentally the stupid thing was stuck in "standby"! I do not ever remember using te standby function but I guess I did and it locked up.
So do not use the stnadby mode in your laptop. He said it happens quite often and to just shut down instead.
So my friend is ecstatic that I have all of the pictures and I can breathe again. All I could think was that something completely irreplaceble was gone...completely gone. Whew!!!
I just had to share my stress. :) |

Hey Hotties,
Just finished my workout for the day. Now I really need to take a shower. Its so hot and humid out there. Very poor breathing quality especially when jogging two miles.
I think I may try to walk an extra two miles tonight. We'll see it might rain.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool. I know I am trying. :D |

Good morning Hotties!!
Yesterday I knocked out 3 cardio and 1 strength session-which means I have completed the weekly minimim for exercise--everything else now is for bonus points. I tried to front load my exercise this week because we are going out of town for the weekend and while I have every intention of getting out walking every day, I am pretty sure it will only be 1 x a day.
Deb! I am glad your computer got fixed! I went to defrag my hard drive over the weekend and I deleted alot of stuff on accident  DH was very frustrated with me
We'll see how the food goes this week. I want to try and eat clean all weekend because the week after next, I am going to London and I am sure I will not eat beachy. IMO, English food is not very tasty..BUT they have excellent Indian food!
Funny, in the past I would have gone out of town for 1 week, gone of "diet x" and would have stayed in a downward spiral. Since SB I have been out of town several times (to include a cruise) and have managed to keep off plan eating to a minimum and got right back on track when I got home.
I really love this lifestyle!
Anyway, today I have another cardio and strength session and I will work on an abs session.
Have a great day!

Hi (H)otties!
You guys are sooooooooooo inspiring..............
The last two mornings I've managed to get in my morning walk despite having my brother as a houseguest, but this morning he was leaving so I didn't.....but despite the fact that I don't want to do this and am going out to dinner tonite, I packed my gym bag and will go to the gym on my way home....(too hot to walk at 5 pm and I have to go out to dinner)
Also, I was supposed to go out last night with a group from work, but begged off at the last minute...I know I would have eaten more than the 1/2 chicken breast, squash and salad I ate at home.
Go Kelly for the diabetes walk and also Deb, glad to hear the computer problem was not serious, there is nothing worse!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a great day! Salmon |

| Wow, Otter. Way to be a team leader in this challenge. I am impressed that you're already through the fitness requirements of the challenge and moving on to racking up the bonus points. Thanks for sharing about your success eating well and getting back on track around travel. I am ready to emulate your success with that. |

Well, I took my computer back today. It would not turn on again today. Grrrr......plus the screen would flicker when I would put it in the slide show mode. They were very disapppointed that I am having trouble with it as they haven't had problems with this brand in the past. So they are overnighting a new video card and some other things to get it going like it should. I really like the place work bought it from. They do not treat you like an idiot. So my new toy is at the computer hospital and I should get it back next week early. :)
Otter, were you able to get anything you deleted back? It is so easy to do that sometimes. I was a complete mess when I thought I lost my friends wedding pictures so I can imagine how you felt.
It has finally cooled off here. :) I hate hot and muggy weather with a passion, I do not feel like doing a thing plus my body likes to hold onto excess water when it is humid. My poor toes get all puffy. So we are going for a long walk tonight and that will get in my final required cardio session of the weak! :) Man do I grunt and groan with the push ups but I have been told they are absolutely the best upper body toning you can do. Considering my dress is strapless I need to tone that up. :) I will more than likely still have flabby under arms but nearly as bad as they were in January. :) |

Debbie - so sorry about your computer trouble. I'm glad the place you are dealing with is nice though; good service can make a huge difference. I think computer and car troubles rank among the most frustrating!
I had a wonderful ride into work today, so I have met one of my personal goals for the week! It was such a beautiful morning here in the city. There is a bike/pedestrian path that essentially drops me at my office building downtown. I ride the path a lot for recreation, but this was my first time to commute via bike and my first time to take it so far downtown. It was sooooooo much better than the subway. I got to work in a much more tranquil state of mind. And, it took exactly the same amount of time as commuting by subway - 45 to 50 minutes!
Upon arriving at work I headed into the gym and knocked out one of the strength training sessions. I stuck to only core and upper body exercises since I had just completed my bike ride. |

Hi everyone
We made it to South Carolina at 3 AM and no, I haven't gone on a walk yet, but I will definitely make time when it cools off this evening.
Yesterday I did 2 cardio and 1 strength and today I will be lucky if I get one cardio in.
I am kind of disappointed because I had a non beachy meal on the road last nite. We stopped at Subway and they didn't have ww wraps, so I got a regular wrap. I made the best choice possible and today is a new day and I am back on track. I had a good breakfast that will probably carry me over to dinner time.
Now I just need to drink my water!
Deb~ I seem to retain water in the humidity as well, so we'll see how a weekend in S Carolina treats my body.
Salmon lady~ Glad you had a nice ride into work!
Well I hope everyone is well. I should be able to get to the internet every day to post my exercise.
Have a great day!

Hey everyone,
Did extra miles last night and did an extra one today. Felt good. I may have to switch up exercise though because my weight loss has come to a stand still for almost a month and a half now. I think my body needs a wake up call. Food is good and weather is so much better now. Going to pool with kids today.
Have a good day everyone. |
