Any thoughts on a team name???
In these weekly team posts, everyone should be posting their WEEKLY GOALS. You don't have to post an exercise schedule if you don't want to, you just have to get your cardio and water requirements in throughout the week. You do have to post goals for the week, though. Good morning everyone,
Just got my cardio done and I wasn't too happy that I got up a half hour late. Wanted to be at the trail by 5ish didn't get there until 530 so that meant more people and more heat. Going to be a hot one today. But I managed tog et my 2mile jog in and will go do my strength after DH goes to work. |

Hi everyone!
It is HOT today
I have my 3 goals for the week:
1. Portion control while I am out of town (to include wine)
2. Eat beachy 5/7 days while on vacation
3. Journal every day
I already did a cardio session today (40 min power walk) and I will do more cario and strength during lunch today.
I am already 16 oz down on water.
Anyone have any ideas for a team name?
Hope everyone is great and welcome to the Challenge!

Hi Everyone!
Glad this challenge has started. I'm going to have a particularly difficult week with houseguests, eating out three (!) times and the general heat of a Florida summer.
Since everyone seems to be complaining about the heat, how about a name that plays on hot and Otter? I realize this was also done in the June challenge, but it makes sense. The H(O)tties?
Goals for this week
1) do at least one "step it up"
2) drink all water (84 oz/day minimum)
3) journal every day.
I have already done my 30 min walk and journaled as well as putting away about 30 oz water so far.
Go team!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to insert a general reminder to everyone that challenge REQUIREMENTS cannot be part of your personal GOALS. For example, since drinking water is part of a requirement, you can't make it a goal to drink your water every day. Same goes for bonus point things - you wouldn't be able to make it a goal to do a 90-minute workout or extra workouts during the week, because you'd also get a bonus for doing that. But maybe the type of exercise could be a goal. For example, I've seen goals about doing extra ab or glute work everyday. Something like that might work.
Does that make sense? please feel free to PM me if any of you have questions about anything ...
Good Luck this week!! |

hmm... well in that case i am changing my 84 oz. of water per day goal to a goal of trying 3 new weight machines this week during strength training sessions.
i had a good start to the week today with a 45-minute cardio workout at the gym: bike + x-c ski machine. it's a real scorcher in philadelphia this week, so no outdoor cardio for me.. actually, it stinks because i couldn't even go to the park if i wanted to -- state parks have been closed (temporarily i'd hope) in efforts by the governor to resolve the state's current budget crisis. other state-run facilities are closed, too, like DMV's and libraries i think.
feeling pleasantly slightly sore from my 7 miles of walking yesterday and this morning's workout. i also made flaxseed meal muffins yesterday, which i really love. i am eating per Phase II right now.
what about "hotters"? no, maybe that's too obscure.. hotties would be just fine too... |

Hey, team! Let's get this challenge heated up! I like the name suggestion of H(O)tties if others concur.
Here are my week 1 goals:
1. Break the sugar addiction! Keep away from the candy and sweets!
2. Ride my bike to work at least one day of the week.
3. Prepare and eat at home at least 2 healthy, SBD-inpsired meals with my DH. (This is a MAJOR goal, as my job often requires me to eat all three of my daily meals at my desk!)
Can we repeat goals from week to week? Some of these are huge for me, and I would like to try to keep them going for a couple of weeks. |

Oh Gosh
I made this same mistake the last challenge (putting a requirement down for a goal)
So let me change my goals:
1) do at least one "step it up"
2) track mileage of my favorite walking routs on mapmyrun.com
3) journal every day.

So how is it going?
(H)OTTIES works for me!
I think you can repeat goals, especially if they are new lifestyle habits you want to incorporate into SB WOE and those habits bear repeating.
It is hot as blazes outside (I am in Wash DC) so I stayed indoors at the gym and did upper body strength, a cardio session about 40 minutes, and a 10 minute ab blaster. My arms are soooo sore! This is my 4th challenge and I can attest, I am seeing some very good results. I used to hate wearing sleeveless tops but now that is about all I wear. I can even see definition in my biceps, triceps and deltoids. DH says he likes how defined my back is now.
Hopefully it will cool down tonite so we can take our evening power walk. I am trying to see if I can do 2 walks at home and a cardio session M-Fs at the gym (since I get time to work out)
Meals will be my challenge this week. We are taking a road trip which means, at a minimum, we will stop someplace for dinner on the way.
I hope everyone is off and running.
Don’t forget to record your weight because if you lose, you get extra points for percentages lost.

I did my walking today! :D
Does anyone have any good strength training excercises that I can do at home. It is to difficult (time and cost wise) to get to a gym.
 Also can I count carrying around a 20 lb child as strength training? |
