Where have you seen Power Gel, Gu, or Clifshots for sale?

Saw over in the P1 forum a thread where Laughing Cow cheese couldn't be found at Wal-Mart.

Reminded me of the fact that running shorts never can be found at Wal-Mart either. I mean, a bazillion things for sale, and not the most basic necessity for the most basic form of exercise in the world.

Anyhow, that then reminded my rambling mind of the fact that Wal-Mart doesn't have Power Gel, Gu, or Clifshots, but nor do most grocery stores.

However, here in Colorado ( :D ), there are a couple grocery chains that do carry Power Gel consistently.

I don't think I've ever seen Power Gel and the like for sale at a grocery store elsewhere. Usually I have to stop in at an REI, a sporting goods store, "nutrition" center, or something like that when needing to buy Power Gel while out of town.

Has anybody else ever seen these products in a grocery store elsewhere?

Decent work out (and running shorts) are hard to find at a reasonalble price even at stores that specialize in such. It seems that most shorts are made for fashion - baggy and down to the knees - bad for running and other aerobic exercise.

BTW Both WalMart and Sams Club where I live carry Laughing Cow Cheese!

Our local Kroger stores put some of this stuff on sale periodically. I've bought Power Gel on sale. They put different brands of bars on sale periodically at $1/ea. Love it when they put up my clifbars. They also have lots of flavors of bars.

WallyWorld only has about 4 clifbar flavors though they are always $1. But I just don't care to go there.

Thanks. That's good info. I can count on King Sooper's having them here in Colorado and King Sooper's is owned by Krogers.

I'll have to try Fred Meyer, Ralph's, Smith's, Dillon's, etc. in other places.

Thanks, I'll have to check again. At least Wal-Mart has decent camping stuff. I already spend too much at REI, Sports Authority, and the Boulder Running Company.

Bars and drinks are at all the markets here. Gels, blocks, and beans you have to go to a specialty shop to buy.

yep, i have to go to sports basement for all that kind of stuff, which is dangerous, since every time i go i end up spending at least a hundred bucks on running stuff. like yesterday for example, i went simply for some more shot blox and i left with a new hat and other assorted goods. cant have enough shorts and socks!

I'm pretty sure my local gym has PowerGel - not that that would help you all the way out here in PA, Pappa, but perhaps other gyms might carry these products as well. It's a family-owned gym...the female owner was big into body building and many of the patrons are also into body building or other sports. I also live in an area with LOTS of cyclists, being close to a popular cycling track. With that kind of clientel, they carry a decent supply of gels, powders, bars, etc. for a tiny little gym.

I've never looked for Power Gel in a supermarket because GNC is so handy for me.

But their website has a store locator.
