Hello !!

i was just curious if anyone has some great tips on getting your stomach flat!!

no no no 6 pack to bulge out or a washboard abs no no not something like that, but what good tricks you guys have to get your stomach flat?

u can do all the crunches you want and abs flex and all that to get abs, but what good are getting abs when u have like 1-2inches of fat covering them :(

so what im tryin to say here is anyone got some good tips in losing fat from your tummy?

i currently do cardio everymorning for a good 30min. As soon as i wake up i drink half a glass of water and i run/sprint/jog/walk (a good mix of all these) in the morning. Since its good to do cardio in the morning seeing as how you have no food or anything in your body, your body will turn to the stored fat (energy) which in turn will help you lose wegith and slim down faster

starting monday i will pickup doing at least 100 crunches everyday OUTSIDE of the gym, you know, in the morning, after i run, during my lunch hour from work, whenevr i can, and see how that goes

anyone else got some great tips on losing tummy fat?

thanks everyone for any helpful comments, they will be surely appreciated and valued !!

The only way to show off those muscles you are building in your stomach is to burn the fat covering it.

Sounds like you are already doing cardio, which is the main thing. It's a combination of diet and exercise (like we always hear!)

This is a good read http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art3861.asp

Abs exercises build the ab muscles. If they're buried under 1-2 inches of fat, they will be strong, well, developed ab muscles under 1-2 inches of fat.

Very simply, exercise builds muscle.

It does not remove fat.

If one want to remove that 1-2 inches of fat that's layered on top, it's more a matter of getting overall percent body fat down. Generally speaking, fat goes on where and how it wants to, and it comes off where and how it wants to.

If one wants to see the muscles underneath, fat must be lost.

Spot "reduction" is a myth.

So to answer your question, a consistent healthy diet with a slight-to-moderate calorie deficit, combined with consistent cardio exercise and resistence exercise, over time, will very likely produce the results you are interested in.

Generally when a man gets down to about 10% body fat and a women gets down to about 15% body fat, a "six pack" starts to appear.

Then at that point, abs targeted resistence training affects how developed those abs muscles appear.

Only cardio and diet will get rid of the overlying fat, but Pilates is a great way to strengthen your core muscles.

also tried pilates. I liked them but my back started to hurt and I needed to buy a mat but forgot. They are a great way to excercise and burn off fat. I loved doing them.

Mats are cheap and you can buy them at any big-box store (Target, ShopKo, K-Mart, Wal-Mart). :)

I also found pilates to be a great way to tone up my hips/glutes/thighs - all in conjunction with a lot of cardio to burn fat though.
