I don't know what happened to me this weekend. I absolutely lost it! I started phase 2 about a week ago. Everything had been going great. Then came Friday night. I had a breakdown and made my husband drive me to Dairy queen...I had a blizzard. then Saturday I ate macoroni and cheese and german chocolate cake. Today, Mother's day, I ate more cake. do I go back to phase one or pick up phase 2 and see what happens? Help!!!!!
I feel soooo guilty. I only have a total of 15 lbs. to lose and have lost 6 so far. Why is this sooo hard? I work out like crazy and can't control myself for some reason. :(

Sounds like you've started your craving cycle again. Will power can't do much once the physical aspect of SB isn't working. Go back to phase 1 (maybe for a week?) and that should help.

I agree with Kim. Also, try to remember what you had before you "lost it." It could be you have a trigger food (is this a real term :?) that set you off. Figure out what you had, then when you start reintroducing the P2 carbs back in, take special notice when you have whatever again. For me, grains in the morning give me the munchies. So annoying!

I think it was my apple that did it. I would hate for it to be fruit that causes my cravings...I can't go the rest of my life without fruit. That wouldn't be too healthy. I would have an apple in the afternoon with some peanut butter, and sure enough, I would start thinking about ice cream and pizza...

Interesting... was it a Granny Smith?

I know the feeling! I was doing "well" with the diet for about 5 days...I hadn't lost anything, but I was doing pretty well. Pretty well meaning that I cheated 1 day by having a bite of cake. Then......this weekend, I went a bit overboard since my sis and her husband came in. I had ice cream and some strawberries, and then today, I went way over....WAY over. I just kept rolling with it. I figured that I had already screwed up this much, why not make a day of it! Not good rationale, I know. So, I'm hoping, or will start back over tomorrow. Drinking even more water than necessary, and only eating the correct foods. I only have about 6 pounds that I want to lose.....but it's hard when I love sweets soooo much; especially chocolate and ice cream. I'm a true girl. :)

I have gone off myself. I agree that something can trigger it. I had a few M&Ms the other day and lately I swear I'm weaker and craving more sweets. Youre only human but you can do it and so can I. Keep me posted.

have you all gotten back into the groove? i was doing pretty good today, until a little bit ago. I had a cookie and some ice cream. :( I'm a person who eats to make me feel better----cause I had a rough night. I'm not terribly overweight; I really just want to lose 6 lbs, so I continue to rationalize that I will do better tomorrow. Wellllll sooner or later I'm gonna find myself needing to lose 20 lbs if I keep this up! Ugh! (and I can't throw the cookies and ice cream away because the rest of my family, besides my mom, eats it) I just need to have better will power!!! ugh!!!!!

Try apples again with a Granny Smith-- that puckering means there's less sugar, so it's less likely to set off cravings.

There are plenty of healthy low gi fruits to choose from...cherries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and I think honeydew melons are low gi, but I'm not sure. These should be safe to eat without waking the cravings monster.

I will definitely have to try Granny smith as well as strawberries. I was going to go back on phase 1 for a week, but I did it yesterday only and jumped back into phase 2 today. I only gained a half a pound from my binge fest this weekend. It's really hard to have a social life and be on the beach at the same time especially when all your friends can eat what they want and stay thin! After thinking about it, the pizza and cake I ate did taste good, but it was only temporary satisfaction. I came to the realization that I really want this weight off and sacrificing the things I "love" is worth it to feel better about the way I look. Not to say that I won't have my weak moments in the future, but the guilt I felt after giving in to my cravings just doesn't feel too good.

I have been on P2 for about 12 weeks and have not cheated once. I went on vacation last week and was at an all-inclusive. To my suprize when I got back I had not gained anything, I actually lost a little bit. I tried to watch what I ate and excercised, but was definately not on the diet. I believe it is due to the fact that once you are on the diet for awhile your body burns things differently and as long as you do not totally overdue it you will still loose. My cravings for sweets are a bit stronger than before, but I am totally following the diet again. Just keep making yourself do your best and don't give up. Believe me...It is worth it!

Thats very encouraging AM. I have been craving some sweets like crazy lately. I'm not giving in at all but I just want to give in a little and get it out of my system. I've been on the SBD for 7 weeks now and I think I might just have a little something to get me over this hump.

I completely agree with AM...I have been on the diet for over 3 months and I have lost about 30 pounds. I went on vacation and offically "cheated" with cookies and beer. I came back and had gained no weight. I noticed that I didn't have craving's so I went back to a strict Phase 2 plan, and I have lost 2 lbs. in the last 2 weeks.
