I am thinking of doing the Sugar Busters diet because it just seems like such a better option than Atkins and South Beach. Atkins and South Beach are too rigid for me, I will faint if I do not have any carbs. And Sugar Busters allows some fruits and that helps. It seems less rigid. Anyone have any experience with the diet? I weigh about 125 lbs. and I want to lsoe 5 pounds in 2 weeks for my birthday. So, what's the normal weight loss? Thanks!

I eat between 135 and 150 gms of carbohydrates daily on SB, so not sure why you would believe there are "no carbs" available to you. Even in P1, which is only for 2 weeks, where there are no grains or fruits, you can easily get to 80-100 gms of carbohydrates per day if you include all your dairy, beans and vegetables.

There is no "normal" weight loss. You simply lose as your body is ready to give it up over time. It's a lifestyle program, not an on again/off again short term program to be used for specific events.

Good luck with that sugar busters thingie!! :D

ya know you can't lose 5 pounds in two weeks and have it stay off.

You probably can if you change the way you eat in those two weeks, but even then a little of it will probably come back on if you replenish glycogen stores and add some water weight back on. More than 1-2 lbs per week of actual fat loss is unlikely though. Just too hard to countervene those laws of energy consumption/conversion. You can't fool mother nature! LOL!!
