| Hey all, I'm pretty new, but I love this site, I watch and read all the time! Love to know if there are any other Boston Red Sox fans out there, or baseball fans in general! Except for Yankee fans, b/c they stink! Just Kidding. Ok, not really kidding. But I can say that b/c my husband is a Yanks fan. I like to think our motto is "JM, promoting peace between Red Sox Nation and the Evil Empire since 2000." Obviously that is MY phrasing. Ok, I'll shut up now. You all out there?? |

| RSN is well represented here pretty much from coast to coast! ;) We tend to chat more about it in our journals though. I'm also a Rockies fan although that is a really difficult occupation at times. |

I am in Boston, have been all my life and I love it here! That's an awesome job- what does he/she get to do? Does he/she get to meet any of the players? Creative name for the horse- I'd bet my money on him! |

| She is their newsstand consultant.. She gets tickets, great seats and some privileges. I'm not sure if she's met the players yet, she just started this season with them. I'm from Newton |

I just wish they could always spank the Yanks (Stankees, as Red refers to them) like that! But it was a long, slow game!
Hope they have good luck this weekend against Detroit and head into the break on a winning streak. And then come out of it with the same energy! |

We're looking good. If our pitching staff can stay healthy, we should be ok. How about Okie making the All-Star team! He's been a surprise, but a great lifesaver. And Josh Becket- 12-2!! If this can keep up, I'd say we have a fantastic shot at another world series. The NL teams aren't looking so hot, although we didn't fare well against them in interleague play.
I think we are also at an advantage with the big talents we are able to harvest from the PawSox. Ellsbury looks like he's about 4, but man, he can play. I have been surprised that the Yanks have been so weak. I honestly thought that Clemens coming on would at least give them a morale boost, but it really has done nothing so far. I think A-Rod is really messing with things. Not that I am complaining about that! |

Hey there BoSoxGirl and others of the RSN!
I'm a RS fan up in Toronto! I also had the extreme pleasure of working with the Globe's Sports Dept. on some Red Sox & Pats Projects (I'm a graphic designer) - that was a dream come true! Also really looking forward to coming back down to Boston some day! (I do go crazy over a Boston accent, so hubby might not like me going back! :P )
Ever make it up here to watch a Jays/Red Sox game? It's amazing how many Americans make it up here to see a Red Sox game! I don't feel odd cheering for the "away" team at SkyDome (many of us refuse to call it the Rogers Centre) because the seats are packed with RSN!
We are doing great in the standings so far, aren't we? 10 games ahead. (Funny how I say we when referring to RS- I never lived in Boston, but I've grown so attached to the city and team!) I must say that the roster has changed so much since I started following the BoSox that I feel a little sad. I love Varitek, :P so happily I can't see them ever trading him! Happy to see Wells gone, I must say. (Remember, I'm from Toronto afterall.) Becket is hot, (didn't see the All-Star Game  ) but I also look forward to seeing Schilling come back.
Out of curiousity, what are your feelings re:Dice-K? They certainly made a big deal about him in the Sports pages up here... |

Hi emmie3! Wow, I guess we've truly got fans everywhere. That sounds like an amazing job opportunity- you'd be the envy of many a Bostonian! I've actually never been to Toronto, but my husband has, and I think he went to the SkyDome, but not for a game. The team has changed a lot, almost a whole different team since many people started following in 2004 during the series, but this team this year is just as fantastic. Pedroia is my new fave since Trot left  Regarding DiceK, I feel eh. I don't dislike him. I am impressed with his endurance, which is rare. It's so unusual to see a pitcher go 8 innings or almost a full game, but that was the norm for him in Japan. I am actually more impressed by Okajima- he was a surprise! Don't get me wrong , I am glad DiceK is on the team, but it was definitely overhyped and puts a lot of eyes on him, rooting for him to fail. We'll see though. The team really looks great, and if our pitching staff can stay healthy, and Lugo would F-ing HIT, then we could have it.
And Beckett is wicked awesome! |

Certainly not a Sox fan, but I can appreciate you guys for keeping it fun. What good is baseball without a little rivalry? |

Hi Dylan! :D
Quote: What good is baseball without a little rivalry?
Absolutely - couldn't agree more. Part of the reason I fell in love with the RS when I started working with them was the rivallry. That and the die-hard nature of the fans who hadn't seen a World Series in yeeeeeeeeears...but that has since changed!
I was brought up in a Leafs/Canadiens house (Ummm.....that's h...o...c...k..e...y.... Mr. Evil Empire....do you guys have hockey in NY? ) so I know rivallry! |
